Summary: Before I start I have to admit I love playing and watching golf. Therefore I was expecting great things from this game and I wasn’t disappointed.
The problem with most golf games is that it boils down to luck or the inevitable press the button at the exact time hoping it won’t stick (e.g. Mario Golf N64). Tiger Woods excels in this aspect by removing the random button taping and replacing it with an analogue control system. Again I was sceptical just how this would work, but blow me, it works like a god dam dream. The control system makes it easy for the novice player in such a way they can always control the ball and get it near enough to the pin yet to get the ball really close takes a lot of skill and precision. The only down side I have to this game is with the putting. In my opinion the game seems easy until you hit the putting surface, then it no longer boils down to skill, but more luck and judgment. It’s very difficult to gauge just how far to aim left, right or behind the hole when putting. It does become easier as you progress… you just learn and end up guessing more accurately but are never entirely sure where the ball will end. However, in defence, if they made it any easier, it would remove some of the enjoyment from the game. Where do you draw the line?
The graphics are what could be considered outstanding. The golf swings down to the facial expressions are highly accurate. However, graphics alone don’t make a great game.
The soundtrack that accompanies the game is great. The sounds within the game are very clear and give the impression or reality and being on the course. The commentary within the game can become a little irritating at times, but only after 3 epileptic fits and heading way into the small hours of the following day.
As said in the first line, I like golf, therefore my opinion may be slightly biased. However, many of my friends whom hate playing golf find this highly entertaining and amusing. All in all, probably one of the best sports games I have ever played. Well done EA.
In my opinion no game can get 5 all the way through. Halo, Project Gotham and Tiger Woods come close. I think that’s a true reflection of the X-Box potential with 3 different genres of games.
If you don’t own, buy it. Even if you hate golf, the multiplayer option with your mates will keep you amused.

Summary: Well, I know all the rave reviews this game keeps getting, and I wouldnt say its a terrible game or anything. I just seem to think the graphics dont always make a game great. Yes, the graphics are phenomenal. the gameplay however I think is not very realistic. I play golf and dont think it feels like golf either. Heres some reasons why...
Summary: Pretty good overall once you get used to it. Had been playing Outlaw Golf previously and liked Outlaw's gameplay much better, but TW2003 blows it away with the stats sheer number of gameplay options.
Summary: My only pet-peeve with this fantastic game is that I can't believe that even in the year 2003 U.S. citizens still have no clue what conitnent my native country of Mexico is in--North America people! I bring this up becuase my favorite course of the game was the "Predator" and this awsome course is describe as an 18-hole course secluded in the middle of the Amazon rain forrest (geography-wise this is loacted in coutnry of BRAZIL in the continent of SOUTH AMERICA) BUT it features MEXICAN Mayan pyramids in the background! Gor gods sakes, they don't even speak Spanish in Brazil, they speak Portuguese!
Other than that glaring amature error I was shocked that I became addicted to this game a minute into playing it. Jeeze, I didn't even like golf, my favorite sports are Americna Football and Baseball but not golf is probably my third favorite.
So much so, I thought about going too work in a celtic kilt and bagpipes.
And as another game reviewer for another profesinal game site pointed out, "this game is golf crack". And I now find myself watching golf matches on TV! Nooooo! What has happened to me! "Just say no to Tiger Woods golf game!" if your lame.
