An uneven game, but if you're a rally fan and you can find it in the bargain bins you may want to pick it up, if only to see what else is out there in comparison to the Colin McRae and RalliSport Challenge franchises. The title is a dual-release for XBox and PS2 so the graphics are decent, but not noteworthy. Gameplay involves the traditional "career" and "quick race" modes, with unlockable stages/tracks and vehicles. As far as career mode goes, the 2WD seasons are fun to play, if a bit on the arcade side of the equation. The game goes downhill in the subsequent 4 WD seasons, however, and will appeal only to those hardcore racer fans with the time and patience to grind thru multiple reps of rallies in order to overcome the excessively difficult placement requirements.
