I rented this game at Rogers for a week, reading lots of good reviews about it, hearing how realistic it was and all that. My opinion is it's a great, realistic hockey game with a few flaws.

Summary:
Quite simply, the most fun I have had on the X-Box or any console for a decade.

I have been waiting for this game since 1991 when EA released NHL91 on the Sega Mega Drive. It was so much fun against the computer, even better against a friend. I had played a few other hockey games since and none matche it for speed and entertainment - last few seconds, flying up the rink, crossing to the centre and slap-shotting it home!

The last version I played was EA NHL 1999. I liked the commentary but it wasn't very fluid, and it was way too easy to score, especially if you circled behind the net - guaranteed a goal every time.

I read the reviews on here of NHL2003 and it didn't sound promising - a typical EA game, all flash and no gameplay. This sounded a good bet, and boy is it worth every penny.

Even a non-hockey fan would enjoy this - it is fast, fun, furious and fantastic. The best sports game ever.

A game for hardcore hockey fans or fans of all types of sports in general. We as the sports gamer tend to look for realistic gameplay, a game that can last for days, months, etc. with great challenge and this game delivers on all aspects that will appeal to even sports fans in general.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME game!!! This is the most fun and most realistic hockey game i've ever played and I've been playing NHL games for over a decade. I never thought EA would be beaten in hockey but this year wasn't even close. I was so dissapointed in NHL 2003 by EA that it was a relief that Sega made such a great game to save us on the Xbox.
