from Blockbuster Summary: Having not played World Series Baseball 2k3 last year, I didn't know what to expect coming into this year. I'd played the original World Series Baseball game, loving it, but I hadn't kept much track of the baseball series' for the past year. Please keep in mind, I haven't tried any of the other baseball games out this year, so this review isn't a comparison.
The game is so great, I'd like to just get the few negatives out of the way first. First, there are a couple modes of play that should have been eliminated before release. The new First Person Baseball mode is a joke. It was implemented much more poorly than ESPN Football last year. I highly doubt anyone will actually want to play using it. Along with First Person Baseball, Visual Concepts and Blue Shift should have scratched the Situation mode. It's highly buggy. Thankfully none of the other modes are buggy though! Lastly, the player faces are also very underwhelming. Maybe half of the faces look decent, the rest look fairly poor. Other than these few flaws, ESPN MLB Baseball is absolutely fantastic! If you can get past these flaws, you will play this game until your fingers fall off! Report this review >>
