Summary:
ESPN NHL 2K5 is the best hockey game you'll get peroid. Worth $50 easily but you only have to pay $20 for. Improved Franchise mode with improved player scouting. New fighting engine. New custom arena music feature. New graphics engine. More moves than you can shake a stick at or have fingers for. You can customize everything about this game and make it play anyway you want it to. It also has a BIGGER Skybox this time (Like the Crib for their football game). New online leagues with ESPN type websites to keep track of stats for the leagues to. You can even writes headlines and stories for your league site too.

Summary:
With the lockout in full effect, it will be tough for casual gamers to want to go out and buy a hockey game this fall. However, this may be the best year for console hockey as Sega and EA have put out tremendous titles. ESPN 2K5 improves on last year's game. Although still challenging to score, goalies are more human this year making 2K5 a solid effort.
