Summary

The Legend of Zelda series is obviously the best and most respected series out there. 1991's A Link to the Past placed #1 on Entertainment Weekly and G4's Top 100 videogames of all time. Even more important, this game, 1998's Ocarina of Time, won the Game of the Century Award. And yes, it truly did deserve that award. I got this game in 1999 and it is still my favorite game. It had many influences from the Zeldas before it (Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening) and had obvious influences on the Zeldas after it (Majora's Mask, Oracles, Wind Waker, Four Swords).
So, in conclusion, if you have an N64 and don't have this game, you are crazy. If you don't have an N64 or this game, you are very crazy. And if you think that Final Fantasy VII is better than this, you are just plain hopeless.

Sound

The sound is one of the greatest memories i have of this game! The themesong is the greatest music on our planet! I think link's yells sound very cool, the spiders, the roosters, the water, the people who designed this did a splendid job in sound, it really gives the illusion of being there. Goron city, Gerado Valley, Hyrule field (themsong), and the forest temple have the best music.

Overall i give the sound a 1600/1000, and again i don't care that it doesn't logically make sense!

Gameplay

The gameplay is strikingly fun. There are tons of mini-games throughout the game, and the dungeons are large, the combination of buttons are smooth and responsive. There are not too many and not too few weapons and items to bring lots of diversitity. Playing the ocarinia is very fun, and there are tons of secret things to do when you beat the game, like kill 99 Golden Skulletas (I'm not sure of spelling). Jumping is a really cool feature with link, and he can climb, blow up things, and about a million other abilities make this gameplay very addicting.

I give it a 999/1000 because i don't like the N64 controller's Joystick.

Summary

THE BEST GAME THAT EVER HAVE BEEN MADE!!! And i think that it never shall be beaten, but who knows? The reason why i writed 300 hours is because this game is not short at all, it's pretty long. But it could have been a several more temples. But maan this is a very great game those who never have played Zelda ocarina of time shall play it!! And the bosses is the best i ever have been played against. They are almost so funny that there isn't word for them. You must always use your brain when you are on a boss, on other games you just shoot and don't use the brain at all, that is not fun in my opinion!

It is very fun that this game is on the N64 because all people say that N64 sucks, i wonder if they have played this game!?! And there isn't just this game that is good to the N64. Those peoples shall not say something in my opinion cause the N64 is not a bad console. There is absolutely no game that beats this, not at all. It's got everything. Puzzles about 10000 of them =), funny bosses, lenght, funny temples, good graphic (for being on the 64) EVERYTHING! I think that i have played the game about 6 times =) That say how much i like this game. hehe

Sound

The sound in the music is like a full ochestra in the console. The music is a delight and you will find youself humming the tunes when your not even playing the game. The sound quality when Link walks in extrodinary. The sound when Link uses his sword sounds very realisitc. So overall the games sound quality is the highlight of your adventure when playing the game.

Gameplay

Zelda's gameplay, like I said before, is its best quality. There are alot of mini-games and quests to do and three dungeons in the first half of the game. For example, you must do certain things to gain songs for your ocarina. In the second half of the game there are five dungeons and they are tight. In the middle of Hyrule there is Hyrule field were it makes you feel free and that you can go wherever you want. The day/night system is quite impressive.

Sound

Sound was okay. Most of the ocarina songs were pretty cool. And I especially loved the music in the Gerudo Fortress!! It makes you want to get up and dance!! All were widely varied in sound and in tune for the most part. There were a few things that bothered me though. For example, the song when you first talk to malon. It sounds like a chorus of Navi's singing!!! AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! No, but seriously. Some of the music could have used a little work. Like every time you see an enemy, it always plays that kind of low buzzing kind of music. Overall though, I don't think that the sound hurt the game very much. But afterall, it's a Japanese made game. And when you get them and music together, lord knows what kind of crazy stuff is gonna be the result...

Gameplay

This could have been a little harder. For example, whenever you have to do something, Navi screams at you 'till you feel like you want to hit her with a bat and send her flying into Death Mountain crater. Z-targeting was kind of a cool idea, but a little demented. It kind of takes some of the challenge out of beating things like the stalfos that constantly jump over you. Still, overall, gameplay was smooth and it worked out nicely.

Summary

In the eastern part of the beautiful land of Hyrule is a small village, engulfed on all sides by a large forest. In the village live only children, known as the Kokiri. All of these children are followed by their personal guardian fairy for their entire life. But there is one child who has no fairy. His name is Link. Throughout the night he is haunted by nightmares, the same one every night. He dreams that he is outside of Hyrule castle on a stormy night. The drawbridge lowers and out rides a woman on horseback with Princess Zelda held tightly in her arms. Then, a man dressed in black would throw his horrible gaze upon the boy. And then, frightened, Link would awaken.

Little did he know that the dream meant something, something important...

Farther east lived the Great Deku Tree. The tree watched over the Kokiri, as the guardian of the forest. He also protected a special stone, known as the Kokiri’s Emerald. The man dressed in black from Link’s dream tried to get the stone, and he put a curse on the Great Deku Tree. The dying tree sent a fairy, named Navi, to bring Link to the Deku Tree.

Awakened by Navi, Link listened to what she had to say. She told him that the Great Deku Tree wanted to see him. He left, after properly being equipped with a shield and a sword, and followed Navi to the Great Deku Tree. The Deku Tree told Link of his destiny, how he was meant to save Hyrule from the clutches of evil. He spoke of many adventures and hardships that link would have to face, and asked Link if he was ready to handle this task. With a reluctant “yes,” Link began another new adventure.

Zelda is every video gamers dream! It is an outstanding display, which proves that video game programmers don’t just slack off. I have played this game countless times and I am currently in the 5th Level, also known as the Fire Temple.

In this game, Link is a courageous boy who is destined to save the land he lives in, also known as Hyrule. After the death of the Great Deku Tree, he vows to save Hyrule. Along the way, he meets many new people, including the “lovely” Princess Zelda. She asks him to help her to save Hyrule from the evil man in black from his dream, also known as Ganondorf, the man from the desert. She believes he is trying to steal the Triforce. Link gave her his promise to help.

Link’s goal in this game is to find Ganondorf and stop him from using the Triforce for his evil bidding. Traveling back in forth in time, between seven years, Link must defeat monsters, collect three Spiritual Stones as a child, and six special medallions and awaken six sages as an adult, though one sage is already awakened as a sage when Link grows old and is given one medallion without defeat the monsters in a temple. (There are five temples.)

This is a great game, and for anyone looking for a good adventure and role playing game, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Sound

I love the sound to this game! It gives the game, as well as you, feeling. It has a way of telling you how to feel. For instance, if a monster is near, it plays a sort of dangerous music. If you are in a cave, the music is somewhat mysterious. If you are in a safe place, the music is light, not happy, and not sad. If the area is lovely and pretty, then the music is happy, and perky sounding. If it is an ugly horrible place, the music is slow, dull, and low pitched. Every area has a type of music that fits perfectly with it.

The music and sounds that you can produce while playing the Ocarina are beautiful! You can play so many different notes. You can play flat notes, sharp notes, natural notes, and all kinds of notes. You can play so many different songs, both that you need in order to play the game and songs that you will want to play just for yourself.

The sound effects are also nice. If Navi is trying to get your attention, you here a somewhat high pitched voice go “Hey.” Ganondorf will grunt when he gets hurt or when he throws something at you. Link will scream when he gets hurt. If your health is low, Link will breath really hard and the screen will beep. If Zelda is scared, she will yelp or scream. She also laughs when she is happy. If Link dives at a monster with his sword, he yells.

All of the feelings in the game can be described just by listening
