Summary First of all, this game dosen't suck like soem bad reveiwers say. This game does have a lot of up and down levels though, it could have been much longer and it could have had more villians. This is a Spider-Man game, it could be in GTA style. They should have had a GTA bonus stage where you just walk around on roofs and on the floor fighting crime. The main thing I was greatfull for was that the game wasn't "fully" based on the movie. It had some parts of the movie but a lot of levels wasn't on the movie. But the ending was a lot different from the movie ending though.I would say it but some people may not have ended the game and a lot others may have not seen the movie and I don't want to be a spoiler.I was a bit disappointed, read what else I wrote to find out. Sound The sound wasn't half bad, except for the fact that he talks waaaay too much. I mean, I could see him mouthing off every once in a while but ever person he beats he got something to say.Gameplay The gameplay is good. You could do a whole bunch of combos and stuff. You could punch and kick in the air. They have a lot of different ways of webbing to the ceiling, the wall, and the sky. I hated the fact that outside building you could land on the floor. I beated this game in just a few hours, it was way too easy. It gets tired a little too quick. The gameplay was great, it wouldn't have much more to do with that, I mean, what else could they do, they did have a lot of combos and stuff. This game is mighty short though, I beated it in about 8 hours of gameplay, which would be 1 day if you turn it on and off.Would you like to Comment? Summary I am warning you right now- If you havent bought this game already, STAY AWAY!Sometimes i wonder why this game got such good reviews everywhere. Its not that spiderman sucked, it just wasnt good IMO. The gameplay was fun for me but it got boring by about half way through the game, and then it seems when you got to fight the green goblin there was just tons of boring swinging around chasing him. Although many do not agree, this is another bad game made off of a great movie. Trust me, this game gets old fast. Here is why Sound NO! NO NO NO! Usually i get in trouble for humming songs from video games during math class. These tunes were gladly forgotten after i shut off the game. They are annoying after a while and there are not many if i remember right. Anyway the voice acting was fair, better than some of the PS2 games. But come on, atleast make this game have some catchy tunes.Gameplay Yeah, this is really cool at first, but it gets to repetive. The game is pretty short, i beat it in about 4 hours. This really ticked me off because i payed Fifty bucks for a game i could have just rented for $5 or whatever they cost i dont rent games much. But there is just one simple reason why i think the gameplay is poor: You do the same thing over and over. Swing around and chase the green goblin. Fight the green goblin. Chase him again, fight him again, blah blah blah. no fun. And the cheats are kind of cool but they arent that neat. It was kind of funny when you make spider man into Mary Jane and at the end when they kiss it looks lesbian. Well i am sorry all you crazy fans of this game but the gameplay just didnt stand out to me.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary I just completed the game and one word comes to mind : FUN. That is all that really matters in a game anyway, isn't it? This game really puts you in different situations that keep the game lively, challenging and most of all, fun. Treyarch gives you a feel of being Spiderman, just the way you always wanted when you read the comic as a child.Who ever called themselves a Spiderman fan that didn't wish, dream, play or daydream that they could climb walls, web-sling thru the skies, or fight Green Goblin? You argued for hours with other comic book fans about all the virtues of why Spiderman would whoop them all. Now's your chance to fulfill those hours of fantasy. Sound The sound is good, but my wife won't let me play this in the front room with surround sound because she is mean. She mumbles something about how long are you going to play this and you can't hog the TV. My bedroon T.V. sounds like a Crack-O-Matic radio.Where's the love, woman? Actually, I owe Trading Spaces a debt of gratitude for keeping her busy, so I could care less about the sound so far. I will be playing this in surround sound soon now that I don't "need to finish one more level". I give it a 4 rating only because I have no idea what it shoulod be but it probably is going to be as nice as the rest of the game has been. Gameplay Excellent gameplay. The camera works for what you want it to do. I read that some call the camera angle clunky and at times difficult. Well yes, you can't always see who you are fighting and at times you have to figure out where to turn and you get confused, however, that to adds "realism" to a comic book fantasy. If I were a web-slinging super-hero, I doubt that I would always know where I was and there would be confusion as to which angle to take fighting:A) a flying Vulture B) a horde of attack robots C) a maniac in an exoskeleton on a flying glider. Of course, I can only speak hypothetically, being that I am not, and never have been, a superhero. I like the confusion in many ways. I requires you to learn your moves and try different techniques to escape your present troubles. As you do the camera angles play less and less a problem. What I am saying is, some of you who don't like the camera angles, suck at playing Spiderman so go play Britany Spears dance game like the pansies you are. For instance, stealth plays an important part in some levels. You can't punch your way thru. Others require you fight and you need to know what can and can't do in a specific situation. My favorite part are the air battles. I played the game with a buddy and we both took our turns repeatedly beating the Vulture. The levels you fight in the air are worth the price of the game. Summary THE TRUE REVIEW TO SPIDERMAN I BASE MY SCORES ON A 1-10 SCALENow personally, i hate spiderman, but for some reason i rented this game, and to be honest, i was quite impressed. The game had an ok story with good graphics, the mini games were cool, and the flying through the city thing was a nice touch. My only real complaint was it was too easy, i beat it in one day. So im happy i didnt buy this game, but it is a good game. You can climb on walls, fight thirty people at once, fight bosses, and even play some stealth becuase of the "Super Robot" things or whatever they were. Its not a great action game but it puts a bunch of things together to make a solid game. Action, fighting, shooting, stealth, strategy, and whats a good game without some bosses, and the boss levels were very creative. I was quite disappointed with the last level because it was way too easy, but some of them were quite tough, like that one whee you had to go up the stairs took me a few tries. Graphics-9.5 Smooth, Non-Choppy graphics were nice. The people looked cool and so didnt spiderman. I also liked the design to the train level where you had to switch from each side. Everything looked nice in this game. Gameplay/Control-9 The controls were tough at times because there were so many different things you could do, but they got the job done. I also liked the story even though im not a spiderman fan. The bowling game was cool too, with the bad guys wrapped in the spider webs. Very Creative. Sound-7.5 The music was ok. But the sound effects needed some more work. Fun Factor-8.5 I found this game to be very fun in the few hours that i played it. Replay Value-HIGH After you beat this game, you will still go back and play a few of the levels that were fun. Frustration Factor-Some Even though the gamme ran smoothly, a few of the robot levels got annoying because if you made just one mistake you pretty much had to restart the whole level. Challenge-3 I beat it in one day. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - GOOD POINTS -Some really cool moves and added features -Boss levels were cool -Graphics! Summary An alright game, but I don't see what the big hoopla is about. I love spidy but I can't recomend this flawed game.Sound Wreched, and you might find yourself screaming at the TV for the characters to stop repeding them selves.Gameplay Here i will start with the good parts. The spider-radar and meter work very well. It is fun to web silng with spider-man.Bad stuff. Camera angles SUCK and the "lock on" mode makes spidy hard to controll. Fighting is seroiusly simple and flawed. It takes too much work to change direction while swinging. Note that most of these things are a little better PLAYING as GREEN GOBLIN!!! He is waaaaaaay more fun to use than spiderman. O, and a lotta people like the arial battles but then arn't anything special after your first one. Would you like to Comment?
