Summary This seemed to be a real work of art, until I started playing for the first five minutes. As with all games I give it a chance, and I did with this game as well, however it met far blow my expectations. Even on the easiest setting for you, it was almost impossible to get a homerun, or even to hit it into the outfield without someone catching the ball. And when running speed of your players and the computers players is put into effect, it is utterly unfair.Sound The SFX were for the most part Okay, giving you some in the ballpark sounds which were good. But the biggest downside is the announcer, who always stutters when announcing team names, stats, and other information that announcers will typically incorporate in real baseball games.Gameplay It really Really Roayaly _SUCKS_ Accolade has never made anything better than this game. If you like baseball games, and a diehard fan then this is something you and only you might want to check into, for all of you other ones, stick to playing Unreal Tournament. The PA studders when announcing a team, complicated rosters, difficulty FAR exxagerated. A really ba game that seems like people begged for it about 10 years before it was projected to hit the shelf. The only visible upside is the graphics, the graphics and the graphics options are quite extensive, leading me to believe that graphics was what the programmers had in the highest priority, when it should ALWAYS be gameplay. This game just further makes me believe that Accolade has never heard the words "Beta Tester."Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary I am now starting the 8th season. My league started on some day last year. That I can challege Cy Young's 512 wins and Aaron's 755 HRs is the first reason that I chose this game. Lifetime play is the outstanding feature of this game. My ace pitcher has won 192 wins during the last 7 seasons and entering a new season at the age of 25. The Right Fielder is challenging 500 HRs in this season. Sound The commentator sometimes stops the computer, his comments are fine, though. Gameplay Too realistic is sometimes a trouble whenwe play games. Too few Homeruns. And it's hard to understand the rating stats like vsL. (Some left-handed batters have very high vsL.) Summary Not only just a stats update (that can be done with a patch anyhow) Seems that someone made a little Mac out of a big Mac. That's right McGuires Home run total in the 1998 statistic is a whooping '0' (ZERO) homeruns. To mock things even further his teammate Carlos Bearaga 2nd base leads the league with 87 big ones. Seems someone is doing a bit of McQuire bashing if you ask me , or could that be HARDBALL 2000 bashing. Don't waste your time or money until this company gets things straightWould you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Call it pinball, but not baseball. Hb6 2000 is just last years version with new rosters, and supposedly they fixed a bug where computer pitchers walk batters in one player mode. You can gun it home from dead center on a hop or 2 so there will be nobody tagging up again this year. You can hit a ball between the 1rst and second basemen into right field and watch the right fielder throw you out at 1rst. Not as often but the Same goes for the centerfield who gun you out at 1rst sometimes too! To win in Hb6, you need speedy outfielders which is what all the few league players left try to trade to get if they played in the dozen or so leagues that died fast. Fast outfielders can run too unrealistically fast and get to most anything. The default rosters are done so poorly that the gameplay is unbearable. Dans update site has rosters that make it almost playable, but does not take away the fact that there are no infield hits due to the fact running to 1rst base takes forever, must be 120 feet, lol! Even with Dans rosters which are far from perfect, (olerud faster then piazza, too many more things to list, sorry dan). The online play had a glaring bug where in the 7th inning stretch, some gamers locked up. Turning off the music and announcer helped fix that bug, but gamers found it out, accolade said nothing. I implore you to try highheat2k this year. www.highheatbaseball.comWould you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member.
