Sound

announcers are slow, boring, and often lag behind plays, not even the espn license can save this game, do not even waste your time renting or buying this game, for about the same price of this awfull game, do yourself a favor and go but the original nitendo with 2 controllers and get a copy of super tecmo bowl and have some fun for godsakes, i also dislike all the madden games and anything that resembles a so called simulator

THIS GAME SUCKS

Gameplay

was playing this game with my friend and neither of us have played sega football games in past, but i was embarrassed to be playing this game when we both found that we could see exactly what the other was going to do, how this could be overlooked is beyond me, game play is excessivly difficult and unrealistic, the adjustable computer AI is also unhelpful as there can never be a realistic balance, this game is just not fun.

Summary

Well I would say this, if you want a break from the normal football game (I say normal because Madden right now up to this point is the only game out there, Gameday isnt even worht renting this year...again.) then check out NFL 2K3. It has its advandtages and disadvantages. People who are used to the old Dreamcast verison will be slightly dissapointed (like I was) because it doesnt have that same old feel like it did. On the other hand, if you've never heard of NFL 2K3 because all you've known was Madden, this game will seem awsome to you. And thats the key issue, it will seem good. Wich means it isnt, it just means they've disguised it. Last year was fair, this year is sweet. I love the fact ESPN is now with NFL 2K3, it makes it more real. And I cant wait until they bring out NBA 2K3 because NBA Live has never had what it takes so that makes it worth it. Overall go rent this game. If you like it buy it, if not buy Madden. Thats what I did.

Summary

Ok, I know what you are going to say. "This guy only played this game for one hour". Well how long do you need to play before you see and hear everything you need to?
Did any of the programmers of this game even watch a single game of football last year, or bother to check the standings, and season stats?
I know this is a video game, but when I spend $50 I want to pick up a game, choose my favorite team(steelers) and dominate. I looked at the ratings that they gave this team, a team that was one win away from the superbowl last year,(attn. programers) and my jaw dropped. Rediculous. Hoping to enjoy myself, instead I found my team dropping passes all over the field, and the weakest of Ds stopping the "Bus". I'm no casual gamer, owning just about every system since the atari 2600, so I know video games. I would just like to play a video game where the team's attributes are depicted correctly.

Sound

In the hour that I played, I counted at least 4 times the announcers where way off with their comments on what was happening on the field. The crowd noise is ok, but how about some player name chanting, oh right, the programers don't watch football.

Gameplay

What can be said, it's NFL2k3. Nintendo has certainly missed their chance to go online with a great game. Stupid. Controls are tight, but there are way too many menu screens, this isn't rocket science, it's football for God's sake. It would have been nice to be able to link up to the GB advance to choose your plays, since nintendo wasn't bright enough to copy the dreamcast type controller and VMU, it would have been expensive, but the only option. Too many missed tackles, and confused players just standing around, it was like watching the Panthers play.

Sound

Sound in this game is pretty good. There was really nothing that stood out of the ordinary though.

Although there was one thing that I really didn't like. The announcers are good. They have good lines and they don't repeat too much. But, I just don't like their voices. Maybe I'm being too picky here but I just dont like the way they sound.

They sound more like a video game announcer than the real thing.

On a side note, the ESPN themes are fantastic.

Gameplay

It's football. What else do I have to say?

The computer is very difficult. Playing defense is really tough. There are times when the ball carrier is right next to you and all you want to do is turn around to tackle him but the player you are controlling does a 360 turn and completly misses him. That is one thing I dont like about the game.
