Summary Not as good as the console versions, but a very nice portable game non-the-less. Some clipping issues keep it out of the must have status, because let face it, passing through a car or two every race just craps all over the experience in my opinion. And lag deaths happen daily. It's good game, just not great. Still, I've played ALL the racing games on the PSP and this one is second best only to Wipeout.Sound Excellent sound in all the Burnout games, and this version is no exception. The whole EA tracks thing is stupid and trendy...drop it already. And the music in my opinion is boring and just bad. I hate this edgey rock crap, it is uninspiring to race to and just makes me think of who it is that EA thinks they are tailoring games to...they must think all gamers are 18 years old and like noise rather than actual good music. Sad.Gameplay I was still in the middle of Burnout 3 for the Xbox when Burnout Legends PSP came out. I was impressed with the PSP version, so much so that I haven't played Burnout 3 for quite a while as I am still trying to finish Legends first. There is good insentive to finish it too. First the gameplay is nearly as perfect as the console versions and the ability to mimic the Xbox or PS2 controller setup it a welcome thing indeed. The sense of speed and chaos are all there. The only real gripe with gameplay is that some clipping issues keep it from being perfect. Examples: from time to time you will just drive right out the environment, most times it comes back and all is well, but at other times you loss it completely and have to abort the race. Also, quite often you will pass right through a car or truck that should have crashed you...this can be jarring and completely bust the allusion of a solid 3D environment and objects. Then have this happen even more frequently in Ad-HOC multiplayer games and you get a little more frustration happening. Sad that a few more months of play testing could have fixed this I would bet. If you can ignore this since I really happens only in a while then you will like everything else abou this title. The AI is always keeping up with you for the most part and provided a solid challenge to beat for the most part. Oddly sometimes they just suck at driving, and then the next race they will drive like the lord. At these times you will be boasting like a madman to catchup only to be prompted that you even MORE seconds behind, even though you had a "Perfect Lap"...vexxing. All-in-all gameplay is a mix of great, bizarre, befuddling and vexxing. Some customization of vehicles would be nice and few more paint color selections shouldn't be too much to ask...next version I hope.Would you like to Comment?
