Summary greaty game you just go aroung kicking the living daylight out of other trainers pokemon. stradgy, mind blowing great game. you have to think more in this game than other games a lot longer as well. sometimes i think it went a bit far by having 16 badges, i mean what is the point. people thought pokemon should have stop while they were ahead, but this game proves them wrong they were right to carry on.Sound the sound i found was the same nothing diffrent at all maby if you go in diffrent places it will have the right sound for it, but other wise t is the same. but the sound gets really anoying i mean omg!!!!!!!!.Gameplay easy to get used to. easy to talk move, and even 3 year olds could learn how to play in 5 mins.Would you like to Comment? Summary Good game, good if you want something to do to fill in your time. And if you finish it fast, start a new game! I liked it because it gives you adventure and excitement in a dull life. I would like to give my age but Ill be embarrassed so Ill tell you im over 13. I dont watch the show or collect the merchandise or anything like that, but i have a great team. I have 249 of them but that stupid Raiku is the only one holding me back from CATCHING THEM ALL!(excluding gameshark pokemon)(i can never track him down)Sound The sound was basically the same as the old ones only the radio pokeflute sounded beter than the cheap pokeflute in Blue Red and Yellow.Gameplay The gameplay was astonishing. The setup of the map was ingenius and there were alot of twists and turns. The allstar team i was talking about is Mewtwo,L100;Tyranitar,L100,Dragonite,L100;Exeggutor,L100; Lugia,L100;Ho oh,L100. Mewtwo was traded from my blue version(for your information i never used that stupid duplicate your items move at cinnabar!), Tyranitar i raised from a L20 Larvitar, Dragonite i raised from a L10 Dratini, Exeggutor i raised from a Execute, and Lugia And Ho oh i caught in their special places. Some good things to teach your pokemon are for Mewtwo, Psychic,Recover,Hyper Beam, And Dynamic Punch(Beacause Fighting is good against Dark) Exeggutor,Hypnosis,Leech Seed,Psychic,Solarbeam(if you use Hypnosis to put them to sleep, then use leech seed to take their hp away and give it to you, there asleep, getting their hp sucked from them and you should top it off with a couple of solarbeams and Psychics! And Some who are not in my party: Feraligatr and Blastoise. Feraligater should know hydro pump and as a side dish put in blizzard or Ice punch to deflect the grasss offences. Blastoise should know the same things but also know skull bash(a very powerful normal attack. And another thing, you people who use codes to duplicate and train, THAT IS JUST A CHEAP AND STUPID WAY TO WIN!!!Would you like to Comment? Even with the release of both Gold and Silver, Pokemon shows signs of being more than just a fad.Gold, takes place three years after the first Pokemon adventure. It contains a whole new area to explore, new Pokemon to catch, new trainers to battle, more items to collect, and a whole lot more new things to do....not to mention, it still has everything from the first adventure. I myself, have fallen into the Pokemon craze a few years back, and sad to say, I still like Pokemon. Not the toys, not the clothes, not the TV show, but the game. If Nintendo hadn't marketed Pokemon as a cute thing for kids, I'm sure a lot more older gamers would give the game a look. It offers hours of addictive gameplay, and requires you to use strategy when facing other trainers. Still, despite it's cute reputation, Pokemon Gold is a must have for RPG fans. Sound The sound is pretty good. It's a lot better than the other Pokemon games.Gameplay With over 200 Pokemon to collect and train, it could take you quite a while to finish the game. You start off with one of three starter Pokemon, and work your way up from there. You have to catch wild Pokemon to add to your team.....think of it as convincing a soldier to join your party in most RPG games. The battles that take place are not just, win with power, but you gotta use strategy too. Different Pokemon are weak against other Pokemon, and therefore all battles must be carefully thought out. I wish however, that the strategy would have been more complicated. Once you get the basic strengths and weaknesses down, you can whizz through the game. The 19 bosses are way too easy, and use very little strategy of their own. All in all, the game has good game play, but is way too easy. Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary i love pokemon and think some of you give pokemon a bad rep cause you see it beets other of your favorites.this game had no technichal flaws.the meetings with team rocket were used in good situations.its indeptness and creativity was why its the best over "doom" and "duke nukem".i think they had a great idea and it conveys it.they did spice it up also when after jhoto a ticket was given so you can go to kanto.also since your a new trainer they let time elapse in kanto so you cant do some things that have been changed like the safari.after time passes they close it down.in general i recomend this game to all ages.Sound i like the sound alot, even though the sounds arent there names when sent out or retreated.the radio feature is a good improvement in sound.also the music fits the towns emotions.for example:ecreteak has a slow rythym;the league's is triumphant.you overlook so much.Gameplay the gameplay is great. battles flow real smooth and its easy to maneuver around in the option screen, battle situation, and just walkin around.its not hard to recharge pokemon.and an old man shows you the ropes of an ordinary town along with a map.you can name your rival still wich is always good.the gameplay is really great.theres two, umm, lands so thats 2x the battles.Would you like to Comment? Sure, it's a, "Pokemon," game, so it will turn a lot of older gamers off, but that's too bad, since it's a great RPG for anyone. There's about 250 monsters to uncover, (252 counting **semi-spoiler** the two extremely secret, promotional/gameshark Pokemon.**end semi-spoiler**) Gameplay is great, the graphics are nice, sound is superb, and replay is also high. A cool new feature to this Pokemon game is the real time clock, which keeps track of what time it really is, and it changes the time of day from morning, afternoon, or night accordingly. Some Pokemon only come out at certain times of day...which makes the hunting much more interesting!Sound There isn't much to discuss in sound. Not much of the music is that memorable, but it's mostly all good. The Pokemon have their roars and what not, and everything sounds like you'd expect it to in real life.Gameplay Gameplay in Gold is very similar to the older Pokemon games. You control a little character on a big map, and you can talk to other people you encounter. Wandering around in tall grass, caves, or water may spring up a Pokemon attack. At this time, you call out one of your Pokemon to do battle. You may have up to six in your party, by the way. The battles are simple menus, giving you the choice to attack, use an item, switch Pokemon, or run away. Occasionally, a Pokemon trainer like you will challenge you to a duel. You will fight his monsters and if you win, get some money. New to this Pokemon game (and Silver) are the time and cell phone features. The time I explained in the summary, since it's more important than the cell phone. The cell phone is a way for you to communicate with the other characters in the game. You can call your momma and tell her to keep some money for you, call Bill and see how full your Pokemon computer is, or call other trainers for information. The most important way this comes into play is that at certain times, a trainer will call you to report a rare Pokemon siting. High tail it over to that trainer's area and you may be the proud new owner of a Pokemon.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary This is a very good game you would not believe how good it is you would just have to try it and see.Sound The sound is great just like the rest of the stuff you would have to hear it to believe it you never know what you might hear when you encounter pokemon and battle trainers.Gameplay This games gameplay is very good it has pokemon to battle capture train and all sorts of other things there are other trainers to battle wild pokemon poke marts pokemon centers gym leaders to battle badges to collect a pokedex to complete when i play i think i'm in the game.Would you like to Comment? Summary Well then, I would first say that the person who gave the game 1 for each catagory has obviosly never played this game. Anyway, on with the show...Pokeon G/S is obviously the sequel to Pokemon R/B/Y, and it may seem simple to you at first [catching creatures and training them] but it is very complicated at heart, such as the calculation of stats, creating a "team", and working out DV's and such.Sound The sound effects are annoying at times, but the music is pretty cool [esp. the Kanto Gym leader battle music]. Rock on!Gameplay Spot on! The game is ridiculosly addictive, and you will play right to the end, and furthur! You may aim to get 250 Pokemon, but creating a rock-hard Lv 100 team is a task in itself. As for the monsters, well, 250...from cuties like Mew, to rock-hard creatures such as Tryranitar will appeal to everyone. You will never beat my team [Quagsire, Raikou, Alakazam, Kingdra, Aerodactyl, Scizor all at Lv 100]!!! NEVER!!! Would you like to Comment? But, it's actually a strategic game, anybody who says this doesn't know the secrets of the game.Do you know what STAB is? Do you know Bp power is? If not, you missing the completly the huge thing about this game. Sound Not the greatest, some really bad music. But it doesn't bother me.Gameplay You know, it's ok, I mostly interested in the secrets.Although, it is better compared to R/B/Y.Would you like to Comment? This is way better, and has better options, thain the all ready superb Yellow, Red and Blue ones.Sound Like the older pokemon sounds from blue, Red, & Yellow, but better.Gameplay First of all, it may not appeal to everybody. That said, it raises the bar of monster training a little higer thain the last games did. While Yellow had minor tweeks from the Red & Blue ones, this is almost a completely new game. New items, new pokemon, new evelutions, and new people. You can also breed pokemon, and they can have "Egg Moves" - moves not normally lerned from the female pokemon that the male pokemon has.Would you like to Comment? Disaster who died and created the music? its just a whole load of cat-stranglind beeps!! even the radio was rubbish for music and in battles the same music comes up unchanged from red-blue or yellow.I'D rather buy Pavirotis single than listen to this.Gameplay people who ring your telephone,WHAT WHIPS,the pokemon where way to easy.afteriDefeated Falkner myn pidge was on leavel 8 but I still defeated every trainer and i didnt even go to pokecenterWould you like to Comment? You get to breed pokemon, have a cell phone, radio, night and day and more! I LOVED this game...I couldn't put it down. If you are a fan of anime then this game is for you. I am 13 and I am not really a fan of Pokemon, but this game is really cool and I loved it anyway.Sound The sound could be better, some of the music is annoying, but it is still good. The music that is annoying you can make go away by listening to the radio or something, so it doesn't matter.Gameplay This is a great game, it controls easily, there are some things that could be better. This game though, is still one of the best rpgs I've played.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary over all it is the best game since Metal Gear Solid it kicks ass and quite frankly it is one heck of a lot better than Doom or Duke Nukem or digimon, i don't understand y itr isn't no.1 in every gameboy/P.C. mag, this is my appinion everyone who has a brain should grap their wallet/purse and buy this game or download it, you will not regret it!Sound Sound? It is weird but cool, if i close my eyes when coming to a wild pokemon, I try to guess which pokemon it is,and guess what i get what pokemon it is nearly every time, if it sounds like a hoot-hoot, yup it's a hoot-hoot if it sounds like a poliwag, you guessed it it's a poliwag.Gameplay the game play is alot better than that of red, blue+yellow but it has more place to explore so naturally everyone who has ever glanced at it has fallen in love with it. As i said before, BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Oh, what is wrong with you people? This game just FLAT OUT SUCKS! All you do is catch stupid animals. That is all you do. What is the point of this? PokeWHAT!? They call this, because you just go out and catch animals. You guys have got to be on drugs or have mental problems. Better yet, you see just blobs on the screen, the Game Boy just beeps, and you walk around, catching animals. WHAT GIVES! Now, listen up. All you do is catch and train animals. FOR WHAT? To win the game? This is STUPID! A pathetic monkey could design a better game then this. Sound Game Boy beeps. Just beep-beep-beep is all you hear. I could design a better sound by a 20-year-old PC-speaker. Where is the quality? I just can't believe that this title even made it to the Top 10 list!People used to play these wanderful Doom or Duke Nukem! Now, they are playing with this STUPID Pokemon game. I am telling you. Doom has ACTION! LOTS OF ACTION! Why are these people just digging in to this stupid monster-hunting and raising crap? Come on people! Look at Doom! Look at Duke Nukem! These games are 1,000,000,000 times better. Duke Nukem is supposed to be the No. 1 game, not Pokemon! Gameplay Go out of town, catch a pokemon, train, and that is all you do. Can't they just think of every other things in Video Game life then to catch these stupid creatures? Trying to catch legendary Pokemons is just a plain waste of time. I think that people just don't have anymore wills to live.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Ok. Keep in mind while you read this that I am a DIE HARD RPG'er. I have played games like EQ, Asheron's Call, and The Realm, so I know serious lot about RPG's.I loved this! Ok, I really don't care about Poke'mon (I am 15, and a Digimon fan ((NOT DIGAMON))), but I am a tough (and fair) critic so listen up! Oh damn, just forgot. I need to get more batteries! No, better yet, let me get one of those AC adapters! Sound (4/5)Well, the music is exillerating, and the attacks and sound during battle are O.K., but honestly, it's nothing I haven't heard before. If GBC had capabilities for better sound, this rating would be a 2 or lower, but seeing that the sound is excellent (for GBC) I offer a 4/5. Gameplay (5/5)After much thought and delegation (mostly with my brain), I have come to give this a 5/5, for such reasons as: You can level your Poke'mon into bad muthas that are nearly impossible to defeat. As a diehard RPGer, I love this sort of thing, as will most anyone who plays this. You can name your Poke'mon. I found this feature non-essential, but when some foolish trainer brings up a bellsprout and you bring up you "Flamelord", you see what i mean. The attacks are sweet! I mean, I loved such attacks as Chikorita's Razor Leaf and Cindaquil's Ember attack. The essence around that (along with weaknesses (("Super effective!))) add to the fun level tremendously. Imagine Poke'mon gold without attacks. *Shivers*. Scary! Yup, absatively posalutely a 5/5 here. Would you like to Comment? Well, some of the graphics were nice and colourful, there is more new options to choose from, there is different pokemon at day or night, and new moves and all new 100 pokemon same as the old 151 makes it 251 pokemon now. The new 100 pokemon looks weird and (they suck)Sound Well, okay sound. I like the music, but I hate those pokemon cries when they come out from their pokeball and you know what I mean. Its very annoying. I like the music when you go into caves and the city music was okay as well. Nintendo could have done a better job than this. Well, thats about it I have to say on this game.Gameplay Well, it was okay at first then it got a bit boring. To admit it, I don't like pokemon but this game was good enough for me. I was impressed that Nintendo changed the engine for Pokemon Gold and Silver, well, they kind of used the same engine but better graphics and more colours. Its probably a 16-bit ROM. Well, you can use your gameboy to trade it with your friends and battle each other. Well, pokemon used to be pretty popular but now there are some other titles to choose from like Dragon Ball Z, Digamon. By the way, Digamon sucks as well. Anyway, to find wild pokemon, you must walk into long grass for starters or go into a cave. This time, instead you play as Ash, you play as another character, looks kind like Ash, and you start from a town called Goldenrod City. You get one pokemon from Professor Elm. Totodile is a water pokemon, Chikorita is a grass pokemon and Cynaquil is a fire pokemon. Every pokemon has a weakness and strong against another pokemon. Also, you get a rival, but its not gary. Its another person and you get to name him whatever you like. He steals a pokemon from Elm, which you get to battle him later, bt first, you must battle wild pokemon to raise the level of your starter. Its sometimes annoying that you walk into long grass and lots of common pokemon appear like Pidgey or Rattata. Well, battling pokemon trainers are easy. I clocked this game in just few days. The old world seems a bit different, and shorter. Well, have you played Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2? They both suck. To admit, this game is far better. Also, play PC games like Age of Empires, Red Alert, Quake, etc. You can teach your pokemon some TM's and HM's. HM's moves can be replaced by another move. HM's are very important. The new HM moves are Waterfall, and Whirlpool. Waterfall can climb up waterfalls in caves and Whirlpool can stop annoying Whirlpools on water.Would you like to Comment? The best thing about it is its extra extra long, you have to get 16 badges and catch 251. Theres 3 begging pokemon(not Bulbasur, Squrtle, Charmander). Cydnaquil the fire. Totodile the water. Chicorita the grass. Theres nothing better than goldSound The sounds good. After you enter a town the sound switches. In goldenrod theres a song but when you enter Olivine it changes. Pretty Cool Id say. GREAT SOUNDGameplay Awesome its way way way good. The gameplay is easy. Its nice and fun. Altough not like yellow(When pikachu follows you) but its still two fine!!!!!!!!!!Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member.
