WWF: No Mercie for Nintendo 64 Videos >>
Summary well wwf no mercy for the most part is a pretty solid awesome game.of course there will be more bad things than good but the game is just so awesome that you notice all the things it missing when your playing the things it has.The BAD things ; 1.the game has only a few game options, more than wrestle maina 2000 but not as many as smackdown 2. 2.no mercy sometimes runs slow, like in a tag team ladder match the game kind of slows down. 3.the wrestlers walks to the ring are gone and that .. me off, if your gonna try and make a game as realistic as possable you cant cut out the walks in to the ring. 4.no hell in a cell whats up with that, that one of the biggest events in the wwf and its not there. 5.they should of also added fully moveable tables and chairs that you can set up and do moves on to like a drop toe hold on. 6.in the cage match you should be able to do stuff of the cage. 7.you cant change the rivals in the edit mode. 8.Finally, they sould of added like a thing where You can make your own scinero, backround,or story line for each wrestler, so that if you had a ppv you could have a plot or some drama in it. The GOOD things ; 1.the game is great when you get 3 or 4 people playing it at the same time. 2.the new story mode is awesome. 3.the create-a-superstar is also one of the improved features on the game and is great. 4.how the wrestlers walk out to the ring with there belts is genious. 5.basically if your looking for a sweet fun challenging wrestling game there is nothing even in the same room as WWF-NO MERCY. Sound the sound is great but wheres the undertakers "rollin" theme at.and wher us JR and Michael Cole.Gameplay the game is best when you get 3 or 4 people playing it at the same time but even if your playing it by yourself it is still awesome.what else can I say, the used the same fighting engine 4 times and just improved the rest of the game and it is the best wrestling game I have played to date.Would you like to Comment? Summary This games is AWESOME!!!The graphics are the best of any game I have ever played. Although there are a couple of computer glitches that are noticable. For instance when Triple H is at Wrestlemania he says they are a couple of weeks away from it when he is actually there. Another on is that the computer can walk through the wall and on the audience. Another thing about the game I think in Hardcore matches you should be able to walk throught the audience. I think since Val Venis is part of Right To Censor and he has not been with T&A in long time I do not think he should walk out with Trish. I also think that you should be able to edit all parts of the superstar such as there entrance, because people chang who they are with all of the time. Just like Chyna is no longer with Eddie. The Rock's face is nothing like his real face. The good thing about about the game is the impact. That sounds very real like when you slam somebody on the steel steps or through a table. I have another bad thing about the game it is very hard to get a table ladders and chairs match. I also think that the groups such as RTC and the Dudleyz should come out together in their tag matches instead of one by one. I also think that you should be able to create a stable. The Undertaker really needs to have his bike and his real Kid Rock version of his music. I also think ther characters should have a full entrance. I think they should show them walking from the ring back to the locker room. I think you should also be able to walk outside the arenas and take the battle to the streets. I also think that more than one person should be to intefere at a time in your match that also should stand for tag matches and handicap matches. Like other tag teams should intefere in your tag matches. Sound The sound was also good. the sound of a chair or the steel stairs across somebody's head is really funny.Gameplay The gameplay was excellent because they respond excellently. I don't have any complaints about the gameplay.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. The tag matches are slow and the tag ladder matches are REALLY slow! Tag teams don't come out together,Why did they put people like Funaki behind Taka? I would of liked to see more wrestlers in the game. You can't come to the ring with multiple belts. Thats pretty much all the bad stuff. Now the good..Storylines are awesome,Wrestlers have more moves than ever,Create a wrestler is better,Career mode is cool as can be except no 2PLAYER tag matches. If you liked Wrestlemania then you will really like No Mercy..BUY IT TODAY!! Sound The sound is good ebough to get by. Most people think it is horrible. I however think it is fine except the Undertakers new or old theme isn't on it. He comes out to Raw music.Gameplay The Gameplay is pretty much the same as Wrestlemainia. Which makes the game easy and fun.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary I'll try to make this short and sweet....I'll start w/ my disappointments:1. no "TLC match" 2. no "Hell in the Cell match" 3. no TRUE "Table match" 4. no "Create-a-Stable" 5. You can't edit ememies, friends or moves/taunts of DEFAULT wrestlers(unless you copy them. But then the space you have on the cart to hold a newly created wrestler has to be occupied by a copy of a default wrestler, i.e. Since Val Venis is part of RTC, is he REALLY supposed to come out w/ Trish Stratus??? AND is he REALLY supposed to do that "pelvic thing" before he starts to punch someone??? NO, need to change it, BUT CAN'T!!!) 6. the fact that you can't play w/ created wrestlers directly from you memory card. instead you have to save them to the cart. 7. lack of entrance music chooses for created wrestlers. 8. Teams WON'T come out together. I.E. Dudleyz, Edge/Christian and Hardy Boyz 9. if you're playing royal rumble you can't chhose what # the human player(s) will come in as. 10. WHY CAN'T A WRESTLING GAME HAVE A COMPLETE ENTRANCE INSTEAD OF THAT 10 SECOND JUNK?!?!?! 11. Oh yeah and THAT pisky "No Mercy glitch" where ALL your info is COMPLETELY erased and/or won't save until you reset the game. But that will in turn erase every possible thing that was stored in the carts memory.... NOW for the good stuff: 1. everything else that i didn't name in the "disappointemnt" list(smackdown mall for instance).... Sound the music got boring very quicly. but as far as the in ring sounds goes, it was cool hearing the smash as Undertaker put the 'Last Ride' on Matt Hardy on top of the ladder. or the thud of the ring steps split Thriple H's head open. 4/5Gameplay i liked the fact that there was different angles that could be set for the story lines. 4/5Would you like to Comment? However I'm dissapointed that there isn't a two player tag career. I do enjoy that you can choose which belt you want to go for but I don't like that the story lines never change. If they would have kept the story changes depending on who your friends and enemys are. I would have liked to see that a created guy used in a career would stay in the career to make things more interested. All in all I enjoy most of there add on to the wrestling games but I miss some of the things from 2000.Sound I love the sound it's great although i would love to here commentary from the King and J.R.Gameplay I love the game play, but when there is more than two or three guys in the ring the gameplay slows down too much. I still think they could add even better things to the game play that i'm sure they're working on for the next one.:)Would you like to Comment? Summary This game is without a shadow of a doubt the best wrestling game on the market. If you don't have it, and you have a N64, you have to go out and get this game, it shows no mercy to the competition. If you smell what THQ is cookin!Sound Good music, good sound effects. Voice overs? Comentary? It would have been so cool to hear the rock telling his next victim that he was gonna "whip that ass all over the peoples ring."Gameplay The gameplay is about the same as Wrestlemania 2000, with the adition of a few new control commands. But after a few matches, anyone can get the hang of executing moves with their favorite jobber.Would you like to Comment? I was hoping that it would be different from WM2K...but it was comepletely the same. Not that Wrestlemania is not a good game but if you've played it as much as I have it certanly gets boring. WHERE IS THE COMMENTARY FROM GOOD 'OL J.R OR JERRY THE KING LAWLER? AND WHY DO ALL THE WRESTLERS LOOK THE SAME? The Rock looks like a sunburned Frankenstien, Mr. Ass seems to be smiling all the time (EVEN AFTER HE SHEDS 20 GALLONS OF BLOOD FROM A SHOT TO THE HEAD WITH A STEEL CHAIR). AND why has anyone won the tag team ladder match?Sound LIKE I SAID, WHERE IS JR AND "THE KING"?Gameplay No one ever grapples anymore in the WWF. Personally I hate the whole joystick thing to do finishers. But besides that the game is actually quite fun. In the season mode mabye matches are kind of cheap but I barley play season anyway. Unlike in Smackdown 2 when you bash some poor guys head with a ladder or pedigree someone through a table they actually stay down and bleed. BUT...WHY DOESN'T THE ROCK TAKE OFF HIS ELBOW PAD WHEN HE DOES THE PEOPLE'S ELBOW?Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary This game is without a doubt the best wreslting game up to now. I dont know about anyone else, but this game is going to keep me playing until they relese a new one. With things like non disapearing weapons, tables, a bitchin new carrer mode, this will DEFINITLY rake in the cash for THQ. There are few things more satisfing than delivering a rock bottom, or a pile driver on a steel chair, or a top rope ddt on the ring steps or a ladder. Or for the throughly insane, you can put an aresanal of weapons on the annocner table, then deliver a pedigree, pile driver, straight through the weapons, and through the table. One more thing, if you want pain, try a swanton bomb off the ladder through the annoncer table.Sound The sound still remains a little primitive, but it definitly has improved. Every dude, or dudette, has there own music ( with the exception of the undertaker, who has the RAW music ). While the intro music doesnt come as far as the Smackdown 1 and 2's did, its still awsome. The sound of a move on a weapon, is awsome! if you can imagine a top rope ddt, or a superplex onto the ring steps, a ladder, even a ring bell ( which makes an awsome sound).Gameplay The gameplay remains about the same, but there are a number of new things, running grapels, ( front and back ) and each player has a trademark runnging move, or grappel move. For example, the rock as a clothesline that will send your oppenent for a 360 flip! Also Scotty has his facecrusher, which can tend to lead to a 3 count if done right. Even the famous spinebuster the rock does is in there. And, yes, buh buh has his full nelson butt bomb thning, one of those onto a ring bell is pricless.Would you like to Comment? Summary This game pretty much sucked! I never liked WrestleMania 2000 so it sure as hell does not surprise me that I didn't like this game. Meanwhile, I loved Smackdown, and love SD2 even more. Guess I'm a Smackdown 2 person. But the major thing that brings No Mercy down is that bug! Every time I do something like create a wrestler or the season mode it gets deleted. And you're outta your mind if you think I'm going to the store to get another one, the game isn't good enough for that to happen.Sound Don't get me started on this. It's just plain horrible again! I am very disappointed, but then again, what do you expect on N64. This was a deep deep disappointment. They dropped the bomb on this game.Gameplay Somebody please tell me what's so great about grappling. People say they love NM's grappling, but it sucks to me. People say SD1 & 2 have too less moves to do, but NM has over 70 moves per person. I'm sorry, I don't want to spend 45 minutes to a hour trying to assign proper moves to a character. I don't have that kinda of time all the time. Anyway, the grappling to me gets repititive, and my game cheats on me all the time. I'm good at the game, because I have nothing else to do I play games, but on normal mode, it takes forever to pull off one successful move.Would you like to Comment? Summary THIS GAME KICKS ASS!! i thought Wrestlemain 2000 was a sweet game, this game is a little harder than wm2k, but all in all its worth it. The creat a wresler mode is the best one i have used, and the smackdown mall is the best feature they could have included. It the best wrestling game i have played and its not a waste of money, so if you are thinking about buying it.... stop thinking and do it already!!!Sound Sound is oaky, but you need a good sized TV or all the bass on the themes is jacked up.Gameplay Well as with all THQ games (this is my opinion) this game cheats alot in favor of the computer, after you win a certain number of matches it just gets harder. and there are a few things missing that i expected would be in this game, like TLC, Hell in a cell, table, and a casket matchs, and why isn't Undertaker coming out on a motercycle. and whats up with not being able to do a two player tag team title hunt. Anyway I think they could have done a better job with the championship mode and included more matchesWould you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary This game is awesome. It encompases nearly everything. The only changes I would make would be with the specialty matches. They need table casket, and Hell in a Cell matches (which have been added to WWF Smackdown! 2 Know Your Role). Championship mode kicks ass and the Smackdown Mall rules.Sound theme songs kick ass. the sound sucks in the matches except for impact into the steps, ladder, table, and squared circle.Gameplay The gameplay is short and sweet. The only thing I hate are reversals. There area too damn many, it's too hard to do any big non-Special! moves. Plus I really hate those suplexes where they try to lift you, fail, then succedd and you lose a color from your Attitude meter while they gain one. Also, the Irish Whip double teams should do damage (no damage from the Dudley Death Drop? 'sup wit dat!)Would you like to Comment? Summary This game is much much better then Wrestel Mania 2000 like such as the women in w2000 they wore high heals to the ring but in no mercy they where actual wresteling out fits Big bonus! The wrestelers faces are that good but better then w2000.the bodys are much bigger and bolder and strong looking. The 80 wrestelers are great and have there own good finishing moves and taunts, and theme song not all but gotta deal with it.The times i play it it gets better and better and is much more of a chalange the w2000 and tons more stuff for you to do.Such as the Smackdown Mall where you have to ern monney to get hidden products all together this game is gggggggrrrrrrreeeeeaaaaaaaatttttt!and you all better buy it's worth every penny!Sound It's great but they shoul have color comenterring!Gameplay Very good such as Geust reffering that is the best because you can make who you want to win also Survival is a great chalange to fight the hole roster. My favorite is the Championship because it is very chalanging for the gammer.Would you like to Comment? Basically, everything works fine until one day when you discover you cannot advance further in Championship or Survival mode. And, you can't spend money in the Smackdown mall. Avoid this game at all costs!!! Your game could have the bug. If you think I'm lying, go to THQ's website, they have a whole thing there saying that they are "looking into" memory problems. Translation: Forget you. We don't care that we sold you a screwed up game.Sound The WWF themes have been brought to the game in the absolute worst quality ever. But hey, this is N64. Anyway, everyone except women grunts exactly the same, there are limited crowd reactions, and there is no speech, just word bubbles.Gameplay The game plays with the same controls as WWF Wrestlemania except there are a few more things such as throwing and exchanging weapons, heading into the back stages and the elaborate championship quest. Very simple and easy to understand. Also, there are some positions that you simply can't be punched if you are in, for instance, kneeling on one knee and being completely dazed renders you invincible.Would you like to Comment? Summary The GREATEST wrestling game i have ever played! at times very funny to./later on in my review on the sound you will know what im talking about.Sound the only thing i can say about the sound is...... AWESOME, THE BEST YET the funniest thing i think is that when your on the outside of the ring when you throw your opponent into metal part of the turnbuckle you hear a loud (DONG).Gameplay The gameplay for this game is awesome it makes the wwf wrestlemania 2000 gameplay look like a broken toy. if you had to buy any game for n64 buy wwf no mercy. The career mode in this is so much better than wrestle mania 2000s, that games career/road to wrestlemania is written by like 8 year olds. It looks like thq actually hired some real programmers. The create-your-own wrestler mode will suprise you like you never have been in any game I won every championship with just 1 CAW a.k.a. create a wrestler. Dont you hate it when your opponent kicks or grapples you and your weapon drops and dissapears well that wont happen in this game the reason that they dont is because the ladder would disseapear because it is just on the outside of the ring and you only get one.Would you like to Comment? It puts all previous wrestling games to shame such as Attitude and WM2K. The career mode is out of this world with all the different routes and paths that u can take. My favourtie mode is Royal Rumble closely followed by ladder matches. Create a Wrestler blows ur mind as u can basically make it look however u like. Another great thing is Pay Per View Mode where u can design your own extravaganza and then play it or just simply watch it. Its a great game, make sure u buy it!\!!!!!!!Sound It would have been better if u could actually hear the wrestlers speak instead of the text boxes flashing up. The wrestlers grunts are a bit too basic. The music however is fantastic, one of the best ones is when u are in career mode and in between matches. The wrestlers theme tunes are great with Too Cool's coming at the top of my list. There are some original tunes and if u get the game try out Original 5, you'll like it.Gameplay The depth of moves is really and truly amazing, each wrestler has over 80 moves and the all new double team moves are just as great. Hardcore matches now have an extra great dimension as u can get weapons from the crowd and make ur opponent bleed like hell, speaking of which the First Blood matches rock! Make sure that u slam ur opponent through the announce table its amazing!!!!Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. The storyline was what really destroyed all hope of this being a good game. No matter who you pick it is the same. Stone Cold will give Mick Foley's mutiny speech, and Mankind says "It doesen't matter who you had in mind!" And what is with "The Rock Era" JAKKS and THQ followed the storyline extensively and it shows. But when everybody says the same thing it kind of wrecks it. You'd think using text instead of voice-overs would leave more room for more storylines for individual superstars in the N64's memory chips but I guess not.Sound It makes static comes out of your speakers. I think that pretty much sums it up.Gameplay The controls are okay but putting someone through a table, or reaching for the briefcase or belt in the ladder match is nearly impossible because the character keeps jumping off the ladder.Would you like to Comment? I have only had it for 2 days and loving it. THQ did a great job. It is a must have for fans of THQ's other wrestling games. Get it because it is that damn good. Sound Well it's o.k. for the most part. Some parts like in the menu it just don't belong. Of course we have heard of the legal parts of Undertakers music, but it would have been nice to hear it when he came out. The part that sucks on sound is the fact there is no commentary. Where is king and Good OL' J.R. Come one THQ wake up.Gameplay Gameplay is great. Although at times hard. In WCW world tour (same gameplay) you can be the man. In No Mercy you may get your candy ass whooped. And that's the bottom line.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary The Game is practicly perfect in every way. It is though much harder than Wm2k. The Smackdown Mall is very different as well as survival.Sound The sound is not as good the filler music is horrable in the main menu. It makes no sence. It 's like the rock and road dogg rapping togther. The sfx are pretty good especially the wepons.Gameplay It is much harder than WM2K. they did though look back to the history books for guidence as well as style. They brought back AKI man from their WCW days and added moves like the Miavia Huricaine. Also the smackdown mall adds many more hours of career play as well as survival play to earn WWF dollars which you need to buy costumes, moves, characters, and wepons. There are 12 hidden characters to earn. Career mode is much much better that WM2K's with the actual plot lines from the show up to screwing the royal rumbel winner and HHH firing hebner.Would you like to Comment? The first match I played was the ladder match. I noticed that the graphics looked like crap but I still tried to play it. I really wanted to like this game. I PAYED 65 DOLLARS FOR IT. The frame rate is pathetic. In other words, the game is slow. It is IMPOSSIBLE to win a tag ladder match. If you do it will take you over 20 min. I should have got smackdown 2. I heard that game is fast. This game would have been good IF it was fast. Maybe the problem is that I am not a big wrestling fan anymore. Please avoid this game. 65 is tooo much. The sad part is I worked my @$$ off to buy this game making 10 bucks every 2 weeks. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY. Make sure this game is not under your tree. HAHAHAHAHASound It was ok. "Damn right." -Mick Foley and Stone Cold Steve Austin exchange lines after the No-Holds Barred match with Austin and Rikishi is announced Stone Cold is damn right!! No Mercy is THE best wrestling game in the world!!! Big names are here like The Rock , Austin , Triple H and others along with many hidden chracters like Shawn Michaels , Cactus Jack and even Earl Hebner!!! It also has a variety of matches and more! Once you play No Mercy , you WILL smell what The Rock is cooking!! Sound Sound may be the only small problem in the game. THQ didn't put in any color commentary and there are only 2 tracks of music. The music matches the action though. The entrance music is outstanding!!! Unlike the crappy songs from Wrestlemania 2000 , No Mercy delivers what it's supposed to: good music.Gameplay The gameplay is excellent!! There are a lot of matches like one on one , tag team , guest referee matches and even ladder matches!! There's even single play mode which is the survival mode and the championship mode. The survival mode is where you pick a wrestler and take him through a gauntlet of 100 wrestlers. This is a big way you can get "money" and unlock a majority of the hidden chracters. The championship mode is where you pick a belt ( heavyweight , tag team , I.C ,etc.) and go through the game trying to get the belt. The difficulty depends on the current champion and which path you take. The storylines are THE best!! FOr example , if you go for the heavyweight , you have to play the ROyal Rumble. If you win , Steven Richards will complain saying that you lost the rumble.( Why Steven Richards????) There are many matches you can play. You can play a guest referee match where you call the shot!! You can find out who the man is by going through the Iron Man match or go through a ladder match and grab the belt to put it around your waist!!!The moves are REALLY GOOD!! They got everything like the Rock Bottom , Stunner , more and-get ready- 3-D!!! The gameplay is a little bit slow with 4 people on the screen and a little bit of collision detection problems but you can't even notice them. Would you like to Comment?
