Sound

The sound is really good as well. I really love the music in the game and I want to get the soundtrack that is being released. I love the song at the game menu. The music has a great feel to the game. The weapons sound pretty real when you shoot them. The enemys say different things but not alot. It would have been kool when you sneak up on like 2 guards and they are talking about different things.

Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty easy. You just have to take time to get used to it. At first when I played the game I couldn't sneak around for nothing. The only why I was beating missions was just going threw killing everyone. After you play the game some more you will learn how to do everything and what you should or shouldn't do and then you should be able to go threw and have a stealth and very little aggression on a level. Between each level it shows how much aggression and stealth you used. One level I had all stealth and just 1/10 aggression and it game me the name (something) Ninja. It is pretty easy to shoot somebody and use all the items you have. And its really fun killing someone, taking there cloths, then draging there body and hidding it.

Sound

Good. Sound track isn't bad. Voice acting is ok. When your heart beats it sounds like someone knocking on a piece of cheap lumber...I think that could have been better

Gameplay

Gameplay is addictive. Its not easy so you get drawn in and find yourself coming back again and again. Stealth and carefully thinking out your plan is vital. Running in guns blazing will get you dead fast...it does not work. Following someone to closely raises suspiscion quickly as does running, even walking the wrong way or not picking up a disguise. You have to really analyze your situation and figure whats going to work. The game play is completely non-linear. You are often provided with tools that allow more than one way to complete your hit/mission. Time is also a factor is some cases..take to long and your target leaves. You need to move quickly and quietly and using weapons like knives and the fibre wire are essential in some cases. Controls aren't bad once you get the hang of it. Two annoying things 1.It's too hard to get down sewers quickly when you need too 2.When you sneak up on someone and try to knife them or strangle them sometimes you miss and you're right freaken behind them!

Sound

Su-f'n-Perb! Home-theater buffs rejoice-digital is the way to play this game. Regular tv's are (believe it or not) just fine-though I prefer to hear my shells linking behind me on the wet floor.
Guns tear through the air, people speak in native tounges-(really cool effect-it really has not been that much-minus castle-wolfenstien/medal of honor)
Music-my god. The Budapest Symphony Orchestra-with "active music" which changes depending on if you aren't noticed, to when you are in a fire-fight, and everywhere between. Seriously sets the mood for this fantasticly tense game.

Gameplay

Easy controls (for both classic and new style controllers)-that are simple, feel correct, and respond well. The analog control have never played such a prominent role (since MGS on psx!) in ANY xbox game. Slighty pushing it causes 47 to creep eerily-while a full push will have him running the gammut.
Gunfights are hyper-simple, and painfully realistic. With accurate models of 25+ real weapons, and all of the favorites are here: the MP5 from die hard, the desert eagle from snatch, ak47 ala goldeneye, the classic sniper rifle, dual berretas-(oh god yes I said "dual")-along with a fancy collection of axes, knives, golf clubs....Hoo-boy.
Missions are straightforward: "seak up on target-eliminate"-BUT you (the player) has the option to do so as quietly, or ruthlessly. Players are (of course) rewarded on steath-but you can return to previously completed missions, using the guns you find from later levels, to make it that much simpler to defeat stealthily (not even a word).
Changing into your fallen foes attire is also possible, and essential if you want to go unnoticed (need to sneak into a house of a billionare to gat-him? kill his butler and take the tux- as soon as the "master" calls for jeeves-bust a cap in his mellon-piece.) sweet.

Sound

Sound is good and does well to add to the overall gameplay. No quips here.

Gameplay

This game plays as a thinking mans action game. There re so many ways a mission can be handled that I find myself spending many minutes studying maps and planning my method for completing a mission. The game does a great job of immersing you into the play, making you feel as though you are the hitman. The additional 1st person mode is a great feature and is very much playable(though the lean out move is unfortunately unavailable in this mode)and can be easily switched to by pressing the white button. One last note refering to the last review. You do not have to go to the weapon select menu to change weapons because this can be easily done by holding down the x button and scrolling through while never leaving the game.

Sound

The musical score by Jesper Kyd is amazing. really adds atmosphere to the setting. plus the music is dynamic, and sort of gives a feeling of suspense when the drumroll speeds up. One thing i REALLY liked is that they used a lot of the original sounds from Hitman 1. most ppl would say this is cheap. I say no. it completely makes the world of hitman1 and 2 the same. you start to remember back when you were slaughtering swat team members in an insane asylum, and you think, yup, thats what the door sounded like. very effective. overall, great sound.

Gameplay

Excellent. I found the controls to be very responsive, except for one small thing. in order to pick your weapons you have to open a menu, which pauses the game. But this is easy to get right with practice. Missions were complex, and thought provoking. Even though i have beat Hitman a million times, i still had to reach into my banks of contract killer knowledge in order to figure out some of these puzzles. One HUGE thing, the AI is soooooo much more touchier than Hitman 1. If you even stand around too long, they get suspicious, and this really presented a challenge. all of your mannerisms are observed, and you know it. it gives an edge and a tension to the gameplay.

Summary

Solid play built around an interesting character and surprisingly unusual premise. You play a retired assassin brought back into active duty after your friend, a priest, is kidnapped. Your missions take you around the world to a variety of exotic locations where you send a variety of underworld type figures to hell with a righteous vengeance. Overall, the game has an excellent hybrid of stealth and action, leaving it up to the individual gamer, his/her choices, and the reactions of the characters in the game to decide the fate of the mission. This freedom is the greatest asset of the game and every mission has a number of ways to complete the objective, either through force or stealth or both. There are a few niggling flaws that prevent a perfect score, but the overall strength of the game would make it a 4.5 rather than a 4. There are some weak elements: the fiber wire/sneaking up on people in general is somewhat poor. I don't like that you don't get to pick your insertion point at the start of a mission. I don't like the fact that you don't always get to pick your gear before the start of your mission or that your aren't aware of the alternative means of assassination until you stumble across them. In other words, I would like to a be a bit more "professional" than it currently is. You're more like a highly skilled thug than a strategist and I think that misses the point just a bit. Overall, still a great game.

Sound

Solid. All of the sound effects are fine, the voice acting seems top of the line, and the music is generally superb. Captures the mood of the game perfectly.

Gameplay

Very solid controls. You have the option of 3rd or 1st person, though 3rd is much more useful except in rare occasions. Shooting is responsive and free, adding some challenge and not just throwing a targeter on the enemy and making you push a button to kill him. There is a great variety of weapons, though a lot of them seem highly repetitive and a matter of personal choice rather than performance. Stealth is well captured, but sneaking up on people is unnecessarily difficult at times. I would've like to have seen better work in hiding in shadows and smoother sneaking movement and ambushing. Right now, it's below my expectation, especially since the garrote is so neat to pull off that I would like to be able to do it more often. Overall, the game performs well, no glitches that I experienced. The AI is reasonable, but not perfect. Sometimes you will scratch your head as to why enemies react the way they do and sometimes they revert to killbots that have no concern for their safety. Overall, they react as well as could be hoped.

Sound

Very nice intro. Didn't really notice the music during the game since I was so tied up in trying to cap some fool, but isn't that the point? Voices and sound effects are natural and not the least bit irritating. I think they actually used professional voice people instead of their drinking buddies.

Gameplay

I was wary about this game after renting Dead to Rights, which I played for 20 minutes, put back in it's case, and never touched again until I took it back to the video store a week later. Hitman 2 is WAY better, though. You actually have to use some brain power for this game, as opposed to running around blindly and shooting unlimited hordes of charging idiots. You are rewarded for taking it slow and easy and causing as little collateral damage as possible (but then again, you really aren't punished for killing everything that crosses your path, as long as you do it discreetly). Easy controls and a choice between first and third person view are big plusses.

The only problems I had were with the weapons. Most times I either didn't realize I was out of ammo or I simply couldn't get another weapon out fast enough when my cover was blown. The pistols are hard to shoot rapidly, making it difficult to put 3 or 4 shots into someone before they can open fire on you. Aiming is a real beeatch, also. Most head shots are luck and you might as well plan on unloading half a clip with anything but the shotgun. Maybe with practice it will improve.

Sound

The music and sound effects are awesome, although some of the voice actors are plain garbage and could of been impoved upon.

Gameplay

I think many will agree Hitman 2 is the type of game that just gives you a refreshingly different "feeling", or experience when you play it, and that's a welcome commodity in these days of the "one man vs the entire world/kill everyone that moves" game design. It's hard to explain why sneaking around in a videogame is thrilling, but it is. .....It's also like the difference between Rambo (bideo game equivilent: Quake, Doom, etc.) and James Bond (Hitman) - which one would you rather play? - or watch, even? The answer to that question is a good gauge on whether or not you should give this game a go.

Hitman 2 feels less like a 3rd person shooter, and more of an actual killer-for-hire simulation...well, "hollywood style", at least. It's a blast to interact with the impressive AI (quirks and all), and the game has a lot of replay value: You can go back to an older level after you've gotten a new weapon and try to use it to complete the mission using an ENTIRELY different strategy. Now that's replay value.
I'm constantly laughing my ass off with this game as well...some of the interactions you have with the NPCs are priceless. A little imagination on your part will have you screwing around in the game more than trying beat levels. To me, that's the design of a classic game.

Plus, you get to sneak up from behind and choke people a lot, and drag naked corpes and dump them in pools and sewers. That's always a hoot, too.

Controls are finiky and confusing at first, but soon you get the hang of it, and you'll actually be impressed how many commands they crammed on this pad, as well as how agile and useful the camera is.

Sound

Well, I dont have much to say about the sound. It gets the job done, but nothing spectacular. The guns sound great though

Gameplay

This game has is par with Halo for fun factor IMO. The amount of ways to take on your mission seems endless, its really fun to play smart and plan. Theres some really nice guns in the game too, and they look and sound sweet. Gameplay is just sweet, this game does the James Bond stuff perfect. You can play like a maniac and kill everything that moves, or you can take it slow and sneak around but anyway you play it kicks butt.

About the control, its awesome considering the limitations of a controller vs a mouse/keyboard setup. When selecting weapons it can be difficult, you have to hold a button and cycle thru your items. Its not a major problem but it can get annoying at times. Aiming feels alright, the default sensitivity was a bit too tight for me but after toning it down a bit it feels alright. You can push down on the left stick to make aiming more precise which is a nice feature. I really like being able to play in 1st person view, very cool.

Sound

Sound is actually pretty nice. Gunshots don't sound HUGE because they're not over-amplified. They are realistic cracks and pops. Voices are fine. Everything works...for the most part. I keep having the music skip on me, but it only happens a few times every couple of hours.

Gameplay

This is the best part. Every level provides you with maps of every different area within and shows you where all of your enemies are. It can be slow, for sure, but I find studying my targets' movements and the layouts of my environments to be greatly involving. It really adds to the sense of accomplishment you have when you pull off your hits. Being about 6'4", bald, almost albino and having a huge barcode across the back of your skull SHOULD make it hard to blend in. I do think the sneak functions are too slow, though.

Summary

alright ive gotten further in this game and im gonna take away a few points. This game is good and all dont get me wrong, but they did things that really make this game worse than the first one. In the first one when u killed a guy and took his clothes without anyone else knowing u could easily walk around in an enemy base and no one would really suspect a thing. But in this friggin game u put on someone elses clothes it doesnt really matter. u walk within 20 ft of a guard or something and they'll almost always run up to ya looking for id which of course u never have so they start attacking. they made this game to "realistic" i guess which took alot away from teh fun. i dont know hteres not as much of a stealth element in this game. And the level designs were better in the first one. i dont know the first one was just plainly alot funner than this one. in the second one i nearly always resort to just running around guns ablazing instead of trying to be stealthy cuz it takes waaaaay to long to do that(the sneak walk is so friggin slow the only way u could sneak up on someone is if they are standing still for a long time, and everyone is almost always moving so its useless)
