I have the game for both Playstation 2 and Game Boy Advance. I have to agree with the previous reviewer that the objectives are tough, but if the game was not challenging, it would be boring.Sound Sound is awesome. I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. I think there is just enough sound and the music keeps the game going!Gameplay Fast and furious. I tried to slow down hoping to get a better shot at the targets (objectives)...but to my demise, I was wrong. The faster you go the better and just keep hitting the up key and the fire button. Gameplay is fast and exciting!Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Well, the game's idea itself is attractive. Sorta like James Bond doing his missions, but always only in a car that can travel on land or sea. The idea is great, but I don't think Midway did a great job bringing such an idea to life.Sound Sound could be a whole lot better - more interactive, more apropos. Bottom line is, I didn't really like Spy Hunter. But then again, that's my taste.Gameplay The gameplay, I guess, is the worst part. Completing atleast just enough objectives in each mission to continue on to the next board is a universal concept in the gaming industry. However, the objectives are hard and annoying to obtain, and shooting the enemies is just as hard (when I say "hard", I mean annoing hard, not exciting hard).Would you like to Comment? These a-holes left out everything in SpyHunter that made the original fun. I've probably played more hours of the original than anyone, plus I'm a hard-core gamer with over 45 Xbox games so I know the good ones from the bad.Back to the issue. Anyone here who remembers playing the original can appreciate how relaxing the game was to play. You'd drive your vehicle and have the time of your life. This sequal, what a laugh, is mission based. What a stupid concept that ruins any simularities to the original. Remember how cool the weapons vans were to drive into, and how the computer would randomly choose which weapons you'd get after making successful entry into the van. Remember how fun it was to run cars off the road, or to poor down an oil slick or smoke shield and watch the cars slide off the road. Those were the best parts of the game, which are all missing in the dumb sequal. This in nothing more than an ugly version of Bloodwake because offensive weapons are the only cool part in here. The rearview mirror is a joke. It's like electronic so you can't see smoke or oil or anything much out of it. The developers who made this are still wet behind the ears and have no idea of what made the original so great. They should have at least consulted with people who did, but obviously they just wanted to make another run-of-the-mill Xbox title and slap on the name to rip people off. Very typical. Thanks Midway you pricks. Sound This is the only good part. But who cares about it without any game.Gameplay Nothing close to original in feel at all. They shouldn't have made it mission based. The weapons trucks should move and grant weapons like the original game did. You should be able to ram cars off the road. The review mirror should be clear so you can see the results of oil slicks and smoke shields. The graphics should be much higher and take advantage of Xbox standards (not PS2 crap), randomness was the key to success in the original and should have been here too instead of canned out through every inch of the game.Would you like to Comment?
