Kingdom Hearts for PlayStation 2 Videos >>
Summary another great game by square. i'm sure that disney would have you believe that they made at least half of it, but i'm afraid that the high-points of this game are square's superior story line, attacks and characters. anyone will love this game if they're willing to either fork over 50 bucks at their nearest retailer, or buy it used.Sound the beginning and ending songs are just incredible. that singer knows what she's doing. the music that goes with the stages really go with the stage. especially the levels obviously on square's side of the game.Gameplay the first thing that i noticed was that the battle scenes were live action. you don't have the oppurtunity to use items very often unless you use the analogs. it was pretty much a zelda type game, only square style without the puzzles. imagine one of the final fantasy games without the standing around fights and huge explosions. you can hack away and do just like link, only along a cooler story line. plus the gummy ships. sound dumb? not for the fun they provide. create your own battleship to kick some heartless toush!Would you like to Comment? I mean, you have rated T games with swearing, violence, and gameplay that people will be talking about for the next trillion years. And in this corner, you have dull, kiddish games that nobody wants to play. But they form together to make one of 2002's best selling and fun games. People do crazy things, but in this case, it's in a good way. A very good way.Sound It's cool that Square and Disney made the voiceovers fit the American diolog. Oh, duh! I meant the mouthing. The voiceovers are still great. Sound FX, background music, they've done it all with grace. My only complaint would be if Ansem (The final boss) didn't say the word 'darkness' a thousand times in every cutscene. That's all folks!Gameplay Next to Ratchet & Clank, this is the most fun I've ever had on the PS2. You play as Sora, a 14 year old boy with huge feet, that want's to get of his island that he lives on. Not that its bad, he just want's to explore the universe. When he was in bed that night a big black hole looking thing showed up in the sky and- oh forget it, just get the game. You start out with objectives and battles to get the game started. The controls are kinda wierd though. You jump with O and attack/magic/examine/and use items with X. Too many things for one button? Use the right analog stick to switch trough them. Funky if you ask me. Nevertheless, you'll have a blast with this game!Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary This is a great game. I really like it. If you're a person who likes Zelda, this game is for you. The differences are the characters (duh), no puzzles, and a lot of weapons and items like a classic RPG. I definitly reccomend buying this game.Sound Lots of good songs, battle music gets a little repatitive but still very good.Gameplay Very fun! The only problem is getting items in the middle of a battle if you're about to die. You need to take like 5 seconds of button munching just to get a potion and by that time one of your partners might have given you one, or you're dead.Would you like to Comment? And then he battles them again. And then he battles them again. And again. Once more. An example of good idea ruined by poor execution.Sound The quality of the sound is also great. The voices of the different Disney characters are dead on. My only complaint here is that each world only has about 2 minutes of original music before it loops back around and starts over. If you're in a world long, this can get annoying fast and the music is the kind that gets stuck in your head for a year.Gameplay First off, this game is more platformer than RPG. If you don't like platform games you won't like KH.The battles are the worst part of this game. Essentially, you hack and slash your way through your enemies. The problem is, the enemies keep coming. And coming. And coming. It's not that it's difficult, most enemies in this game are push-overs, but they're just too numerous. Assuming your thumb doesn't fall off from all the button mashing, you'll be bored to tears. Another problem is that the game won't let you do anything while a battle is in progress. You can't open chests, flip switches, or anything else. So simply leaving an area does not work everywhere. It gets really anoying when trying to solve a puzzle or reach a difficult area. There's nothing like spending an hour jumping, swinging, and climbing to narrow platform only to be pushed off by an impromtu battle. Thanks guys. Basically, the enemies in this game are like an annoying younger sibling that constantly taps on your shoulder while you're playing the game repeating, "Is this annoying? Is this annoying? Is this annoying? Is this annoying?" Talk about controller throwing fun! Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Kingdom Hearts. One of my favorite games EVER! Amazing graphics! Although, I was a bit disapointed that they didn't have any of the characters from Final Fantasy 9, or Vincent from Final Fantasy 7. Still, a GREAT game!Sound I really liked the voice-overs. They actually did a good job on that! But the music..I don't really know. In some worlds, the music is kinda catchy, but otherwise, you don't really notice it.Gameplay AWESOME! But in battle, it's best if you master using both right and left analog sticks. Great rewards from that.Would you like to Comment?
