NFL 2K3 for Xbox Videos >>
Summary I bought this game because of all the hype and all the great reviews, and I could not be more disappointed. This game is awful, and does not come close to representing real football. Beyond serious gameplay issues, the graphics definitely did not dazzle me. Even the instruction manual is lousy. Apparently, this game features the opportunity to perform advanced line moves, such as swim moves when rushing the passer. Unfortunately, it does not tell you anywhere in the booklet or in the onscreen help menus what the controls are for these moves! There is also a feature called "Maximum Passing" that can be toggled on & off when setting up a new game, but I can't find anything that tells me exactly what Maximum Passing is.Sound I don't have any major complaints with the sound, but nothing about it really blows me away either. It is certainly not bad enough to make me dislike the game if the gameplay was good, but also not enough to overcome the awful gameply that unfortunately makes this game a loser.Gameplay Gameplay is far and away the worst part of this game. First, I could not run the ball at all against the AI defense. I tried several teams with no luck. I even tried Marshall Faulk & the Rams, who have the top-rated rushing offense in the game. Every time I called a rushing play, there was no hole for me to run through. In fact, more often than not, I was greeted by 2 or 3 defenders in the backfield once I got the handoff. Even worse, it usually seemed like the computer knew my play in advance and was waiting for me. About 95% of the running plays I have tried went for no gain or lost yardage. Passing is just as frustrating. The controls and general flow of the passing game are ok, but the receivers drop EVERYTHING!! Whenever a receiver catches a pass and gets touched within a couple of seconds, he drops the ball. This even happens when the receiver just gets bumped as opposed to receiving a very hard hit. Since it is rare to have wide open receivers, this means my passing line is usually about 7 or 8 completions in 24 to 30 attempts. Sorry, but professional receivers hang on to the ball more often than not, even when they are hit immediately after making the catch. On one play, my quarterback successfully threw a pass to an open receiver. Unfortunately, the receiver ran his route 5 yards out of bounds! The worst part was, it wasn't even a sideline "out" route, it was a route designed to go upfield. It is impossible to generate any pass rush against the AI team (in 15 or 20 games I have about 2 sacks, both of which were accomplished by one of my AI teammates), and the AI running backs break about 50-60% of the tackles I attempt-way too many to be realistic. Even though I can't get near the AI quarterback, I constantly have pressure on me immediately when I try to pass.Would you like to Comment? Maybe they never played football games from back in the day like 10 yard fight, tecmo football, or Joe Montana football to really appreciate what they are playing now. NFL2k3 is an impressive game and ever since the dreamcast days, the game continues to get better and beter. Is it perfect no, no game is ever made perfect. There's always gonna be somebody that doesn't like this or that in a game. If you don't know nothing about football offense and defensives plays don't play this game, cause the game requires you to know these plays. NFL2k3 is a tough tough game to play cause you can't make no mistake in the game, the computer will make you pay. This game ain't forgiving at all. So when you win you'll feel like you actually earn a win. I've played all three football games Madden, Fever, and 2k3. Madden is good I just don't like the way it looks and plays. Players are so tiny compared to 2k3. Fever has the best lookin graphics out the three but the gameplay is weak not real enough football. Overall for me 2k3 is the football game for me. Even though the game is hard as hell.Sound Its okay nothing to get crazy about, same as always good.Gameplay Gameplay is easy executing a tackle, a pass, a spin, jukes, stiff arms are smoothly done. Defense is most important and the hardest part of the game. If you don't learn this part of the game your gonna lose alot. Switching defender as the play is in motion is hard as hell. You gotta be quick with your button controls, most of the time your busy pressing buttons trying to break to through the line for a sack. By the time you press the button for the switch the pass is already completed. Getting tips, deflections, and quick taclkes are keys for defense. The passing is also tough, you gotta know how to pass and what passing plays to choose cause if you don't expect alot of interceptions and frustrations. The running is probably the easy the thing to get into. Nothing wrong with the running game. Don't know how people can say the gameplay suck. You practice on practice mode to get all the controls.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary I'm not sure why people give this game 5s. It's not a 5 by any means. An honest score for this game is a 2-3 at best. 2K3 is flawed, and while it may be the best football game, it is not great or perfect. If you want to "think" you're a great playcaller or coach then maybe this game is for you. If you'd rather play football, you might prefer Fever.Sound I hate to sound like a broken record, but this soundtrack was ripped right from the previous Sega NFL games. Nothing new.....they literally still use the same sounds from 2000.Gameplay Gameplay hasn't changed much since Sega stared this series several years ago. They tried to make it more "sim like" this year but ended up ruining the game. They were unable to find the perfect mix of realism and arcade style play. It turned into one big jumbled mess. I think too much time was spent making franchise and draft simulations, and not enough time was spent making a good fotoball game.Would you like to Comment? Know that this game is not easy, and the running game neccecetates using multiple buttons to find sucess. You can no longer throw through the arms of coverage. While there are problems, this is by far the most realistic in terms of play and has the best graphics of all the football gamesSound Quite good but not a major standout.Gameplay You must use wise play calling most of the time, and that can be tough to get use to. Some annoying features, like 3 audible choices, but you know, you can make up your own plays and insert. Don't expect to win every game unless you are unreal! Overall, very strong.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Over all i love this game more than any other ive played since Super Tecmo bowl. Alot of people seem to be either a EA or SEGA fan and not give fair reviews. Now im pretty bored with EA's games becouse they dont seem to change the gameplay, instead they seem to add more features such as maddens training camp. IVE NEVER WRITTEN ON HERE BUT DUE TO THE BIAST REVIEWS I FELT I SHOULD HELP YOUR DECISION TO PURCHASE THIS GAME OR ANOTHER.I do prefer this game over EA's but not just becouse its not made by EA! Its got wonderful grafics, the ESPN licience is great and its refreshing from the norm. p.s. i hated 2k2 and this is a mile above. Sound Overall pretty standard. There are staduim specific sounds, and i can tell you im sick of those damn cowbells in Dal! Im still waiting for somebody to get real songs in here such as We will rock you or who let the dogs out. i know they suck but thats what they play in the real stadiums right?Gameplay Alot of people say that its arcady, and in a sence it is, much like the NFL. They have toned down the super dives(especially for def. players). The passing is realistic. If you dont step up when you pass, your qb's accuracy will suffer. Maxuim passing is good if you can understand how to use it, and its almost a must. Running is more like how Emmitt Smith runs...vision and using your blockers. This is isnt like madden where you just run and bump off people or bounce out of logjams and next thing you know your behind the D.(I enjoy that in my collage games, not the nfl.) Recieiving is fine, although no game ive played has the toe slide when reaching for a pass near the sidelines. Why? Alot of people think its hard to catch anything becouse its so realistic. If you get hit in the NFL when your going up for a pass, 90% of the time you wont come down with it! Now I played with my awful Cowboys and my rec's werent getting open and dropped almost everything with the exception of Galloway, so i got Cris Carter out of retirement and imediatly Q.Carters game when up! One thing i think i should make you aware of is a rec has a route running stat which is great and shows ther ability to get seperation which leads to catches! This game is hard, much like the NFL. My cowboys suck and so does my record! I guess if your not throwing for 800 yards a game then its not good. If you think the game is too hard, just adjust the A.I. difficulty or use a better team! Someguy wrote that jim miller could scramble....i guess he played on rookie cuz im quincy and hes a good running qb and i still get hammered by the D. Ill bet anybody $100 that i can get 100 yards rushing with ANY qb in madden. Over all the gameplay is great and resonsive and if i have anyting bad to say its that i cant rush the passer. Its very difficult to get to the QB and even if you do he either gets rid of it or shrugs off your attack. One guy sugested that the game "cheats" and scored when it want to and you can never blow out the computer. I do feel madded does this, and this game does too but i try to tell myself its the other teams will to win. Hey their trying to win the game too right!?! Would you like to Comment? The wrong disc was slipped into the case I bought. This game isn't realistic at all. As a matter of fact, NFL 2K3 is scripted. You heard me right, the game is scripted. The CPU decides what will happen, and when it happens. Before you snap the ball on a pass play, the CPU wil already have decided that it will intercept your pass. We've tested this theory, and it works every time. Every game is played out to make it as close and thrilling as possible. Are you up by 6 points with under 2 minutes in the 4th quarter? You will either fumble, throw an INT, or fail to get a 1st down each and every time. They programmed this game to play up to your level, by cheating. The CPU team will drive down the field, and win every game in the last minute. This isn't football.Sound Sega didn't waste any time or money on sound. This game has the exact same soundtrack as the last 3 Sega NFL games...the EXACT same one.Gameplay Weak, crappy, and it cheats...what else can I say. You can run all over the AI team, but they will hang in the game every time. You WON'T blow the AI team out. Your QB will become innept, your running back will fumble twice. Your recievers will NOT catch balls. You cannot tackle AI running backs in this game, and that's such a farse. I'd love to know what's so great about this game? Have you played in on LIVE yet? It's even worse there, as the other players can watch as you select your formation! How stupid is that? There are too many ways to cheat in this game to even bother playing it online. For those of you getting on LIVE in Noember...don't waste your time with this game, you will get beaten all over the field. There are 3 glithes/cheats that allow the experienced players to stop you every play.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary 2K3 is sega's worst attempt at a football game. I was a fan of the other 2K games, but this one drops the ball. I simply can't understand how this game is so highly rated. It has too many flaws to be taken seriosuly. 2K3 is the most unrealistic football game I've played in years.Sound I can't believe Sega has re-used the same commentary year after year. If you grew tired of it during 2K1 on the Dreamcast, you'll surely be sick of it by now.Gameplay Too many INTs, no sacks, unstoppable AI running backs, silly kicking game, same commentators and dialogue from 2K, 10 yards dives, only 3 audibles? This is a very dissapointing game.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary NFL 2K the leader in Sports Entertainment teams up with ESPN to make the worst NFL 2K ever!. I have been playing this for over 2 months since it came out and I must say its horrid.Sound Sound is pretty good. Commentary is very repeative even from the beginning. Music is pretty good that you can choose the ESPN themes. Everything from Sunday Night Football to NFL Primetime to the WWE Music that ESPNews uses.Gameplay Gameplay is where this game is a leaker. Its so weird...You can play some great offense in the game just like they do in the NFL but when it comes to D where is it. Its very hard to intercept the ball but I get more of those then I do sacks. I rarley ever get a sack maybe 1 ever 8 games with anybody. Linemen don't blitz at all, LB stay in coverage. C'mon this is horrible.Another thing that boters me is the kicking in the game. Oh my ever kicker can make a feild gold from 60 yards out. Ok thats not real. What about kickoffs always through the uprights. The AI is really bad though. I hate it when they can run all over the place with their HB or FB yet you get 5-6 yards. They get like 20 all the time. Thats not real football. Oh and why does the CPU never pass deep. Always these -2 yard passes. I found out if I crank up the passing all the way and lower the running all the way they are a little more like the NFL. Increase their cating ablity also and you should be fine but sometimes they are totally cheap and I mean cheap. Would you like to Comment? Summary Im gonna make this short but give the factsSound The sounds ok same as the previous versions except they tell about the stats while going through the line upGameplay Everything is pretty good in the game except no coaches challenge there are sometimes bad calls on the field. Another thing why during the preseason the team keeps there starters in the whole game in madden they change there starter i find that pretty awesome. Why do guys have mud on there jerseys before the start of the game?Last guys drop passes but not as many as nfl2k3 makes it.How can every kicker hit 52 yarder in the snow they never miss come on now doug brien missed two extra points in reality and beats me in the snow with a 50 plus yarderWould you like to Comment? It would take hours to type everything I can say about this game....I'll keep it somewhat short. I strongly recommend that you rent all of the major football games, or play a friends' before you buy. NFL2K3 is too hard to pick up and start playing competitively. Fever fits taht bill much better. If you don't mind spending days and days just learning all the glitches and soft spots, then maybe you'll like 2K3. Glitches....what? Yes, 2K3 has tons of glitches.Sound The gameplay sounds are pretty good, but the announcers get boring and repetitive by halftime. They have the exact same dialogue they Sega used in NFL 2K1 on the Dreamcast.Gameplay Sega changed the entire game from it's previous outing in the 2K sports series. NFL 2K3 was aimed more at the sports sim fan than the casual football game player. Same with World Series Baseball....they focused on franchise modes, drafts, managing, etc more so than gameplay. NFL 2K3 went from being a great all around football game to a strat-o-matic sim wannabee. But they failed. The gaps in the difficulty levels is immense. Rookie is too easy, Pro is too hard, and AllPro is over the top. I've played an entire season on rookie, and pretty much whooped everybody. I felt ready for Pro...which I tried initially and couldn't even compete. But even after dominating on Rookie, Pro is way too hard. I can hit my recievers in the numbers time and time again on a perfectly timed throw. The first time a defender touches him, even a second or two later, he drops the ball for an incomplete pass. I've tried this for an entire game, with plays that I've had regular success with, and dropped over 15 straight attempts, thet each hit the reciever. I think it's ridiculous to have to go in and adjust the "catching" slider just so my revievers won't drop EVERY pass. The passing game is my biggest complaint with 2K3....it comes up way short, Sega failed big time here. Another complaint is the tackle/explosion/flyaway. The ball carrier gets hit, and flys 7 yards in any random direction. It not only looks stupid, it NEVER happens in the NFL. Do you like rushing the passer and getting sacks? Then you will not like NFL 2K3..because you won't get sacks with linemen. You may get the occasional sack with a DB or LB coming from the outside, but Dline sacks are nonexistent in this game. No matter which QB you are using, he will throw wobbly, slow, dead duck passes. Even when you hold the button longer for a harder pass, the ball will float like a punt. Expect to be picked off a lot. So far, most of my games have had at least 5 or 6 INTs. Don't feel bad, the AI will let you pick off a few too. INTs happen WAY too frequently in this game. NFL 2K3 is NOT realistic football....and dare I say, it's probably just as much an arcade football game as Fever is.Would you like to Comment? Still plenty of room for improvement, but the best available product for diehard football fans.Sound I'm never impressed with the commentating for any sports game. But relatively speaking, this game is by far the best out there. The ESPN look is a nice addition.Gameplay The passing game is fine. Adjust the sliders if you're dropping too many balls. And the drops work both ways. If you're controlling a safety on defense and the WR is catching a ball in front of you, hit him when the ball gets there - there's a fair chance he'll drop it too. The running game is outstanding. Don't hit speed burst as soon as you get the handoff, you actually have to follow your blocks. The run defense is a legitimate gripe. The computer breaks way too many tackles, and I have to use a 4-6 defense on 1st&2nd down just to have any hope (granted the Bills defensive line is horrid, so I guess that's kinda realistic in my case). I'm not gonna cry about not getting 5 sacks every game, but getting any pressure whatsoever on the QB is too difficult as well. The kicking game is a bit too hard as well. You shouldn't have to get full power in order to make a 45 yard FG. I agree that the 1st level is too easy and the 2nd level's too hard. It takes a while to customize the sliders to your liking, but that's what I use the pre-season games for; once you do that, this game's a blast.Would you like to Comment? Summary This game is the best football game out there. I've played the game online as a beta tester and the online play is great too. Since there are plenty of other reviews out there, I'll focus on the online play. Sound Commentary is in depth and not repetitive and talking online is easy. The voice masking options to disguise your voice online are pretty bad and make things hard to understand...but if you use your real voice, then the quality is great.Gameplay Gameplay online is great. The bad news is you have to play on the PRO level online and running is near impossible...except for Marshall Faulk who will get a whopping 1.9 yards per carry. The football game is a great simulation. You have to know football to really go onto the next level and avoid interceptions. You'll have to read defenses to know when you can scramble, and when you can sneak in a pass. Very realistic. There is no lag online...and the voice communication is crystal clear. It is easy to find friends and challenge people. You can play ranked or unranked games. So far though you only have one account, so if you have a friend or relative who likes to play with your XBOX online,...they may ruin your ranking...so hopefully microsoft will come out with a fix for this. You can't see the other person's play...and you can even hold down both triggers and it'll show you your players routes on the field, and the person you are playing against (online) can not see the play. Summary The best reviewed football game is not nearly as realisitic as Madden.Sound The sound is fine. Who actually doesn't shut of the commentary after the first couple of days anyway? The pitter patter of the rain was a nice touch, along with the fan noise of the blimp when your viewing in that mode. Otherwise, I could care less.Gameplay NFL2K3 tries to strike a balance between NFL Blitz style arcade absurdity and Madden style simulation. To be fair, this game succeeds. That is the problem. If you want an inane arcade romp bearing some superficial similarities to pigskin, then pick up Blitz. If you want a game that actually attempts to simulate the game of Football, get Madden.Every running back in the game is capable of dives of such spectacular distance it would bring tears to the eyes of Carl Lewis. Then there's the "spin move". It is a beautiful move to try in real life. What it is capable of is allowing the back to change direction and fake out the defender. There is every reason to use this move AWAY from the defender, as can be done in Madden. This is not possible in this game as the spin move degrades into a ridiculous looking shuffle step for so long as there is no defender near by. Note to Sega, in real life one plans a move (be it a juke, spin move, whatever) before the defender arrives, not as a reflex after the defender is tackling you. The passing game is atrocious. Even the fastest bullet looks like a lob tossed out by my grandmother. Way too much time and air and the result is an uncountable number of interceptions for all involved. Yay! The game simply sucks and isn't worth the rental. Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary the best football game ever period. I have played and loved football games since tecmo bowl. In the past i loved madden games and played them death. I rented madden and 2k 2003. Sega football was much faster and i like the gameplay a lot more. the extended franchise mode made it even more impressive. By the way i ended up buying NFL 2k3 the other day over madden.Sound great 5.1 surround sound. The crowd in 2k3 is much much better than in madden. it adds to the feel of the game.Gameplay the best gameplay in any football game on the market no questions asked! great moves, takles, diving catches, diving into the endzone. all exellent. ESPN lisence also added to the fun. Franchise mode is the most expansive ive ever seenWould you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary After reading some of the review above I feel really bad that some peopl emight turn away from playing this game because some people post inaccurate reviews. What I mean is they basically have no skill/knowledge in the football area and/or do not know how to properly play the game. Here is the real skinny on NFL2K3... Sound You will not find any better commentating than is in this game. Also I'd always rather chew my own arm off than have to listen to John Madden talk. Gameplay Gameplay is very good. The first thing I want to do is address some of the other comments about how the game falters in this area. There is one contributing factor to this - the manual sucks. The manual doesn't have everything you can do it so a lot of people are aware that some of the things the are complaining about are actually there or fixable.#1 WR's drop balls - It's called the catching AI slider...USE IT #2 Unrealistic running game - there called power moves - learn them use them - follow your blocking #3 bad passing game - First of all hold the button down to bullet tap to lob. #4 no line moves for D-lineman - Yeah sure advanced line moves is turned on but you still have to use them. If you are a D-lineman hold the L-trigger and when you "lock-up" keep holding the L-trigger and press any of a/x/b/y buttons to perform different moves. All that out of the way the gameplay is what seperates this games from the rest...It's Incredible. There are some things they could work on like sideline awareness and definately a different play-calling menu but thats about it. Would you like to Comment? I thought for sure 2k3 would take the already great engine and tweak it, add killer graphics and make it perfect. Not so. Why couldn't they just improve on an already stellar game? Add X-box quality graphics. Also, use the damn hard drive. We could have highlight replays at half and highlights at post-game etc. That in itself would be better than the ESPN thing. Really what does ESPN really add other than its logo?Sound Sound is ok. I don't find it any better than 2k2's. Adequate.Gameplay It is by no means a horrible game but it can be very frustrating. From what I've seen the running game is non-existent. The interface is getting worse w/ the more powerful systems for some reason. As also mentioned in other reviews, plenty of dropped passes on contact. The play menu is also annoying. Tons of useles plays and finding a decent one takes time. What happened to the Goaline formation for offense? The computer, if it's ahead, starts wasting the clock immediately. On defense I like playing as a DT or DE. You can't do anything, NOTHING. When I found that it had advanced line options I was relieved until I found IT WAS ALREADY ON!!! I can't bat the ball or anything- FRUSTRATING!! The linemen lock up immediately and that's it. On Season mode the game does not update itself w/ current stats. For example, I've played as the Bears. Every game they tell me I'm fifth in rushing during the intro. After 5 games w/ no rushing at all the intro still says I'm a rushing powerhouse rated number 5. Frustrating!!Would you like to Comment? Summary As the football season is upon us again, us gamers are stuck with the question: Which game Madden, NFK 2K3 or (ugh!)NFL Fever 2002/3. While Fever isn't even on the radar for many gamers, the choice is between Madden and 2K3. Since I have both and this is supposed to be a review for 2K3, I'll focus on this game with a little of Madden sprinkled in for comaparison. Mind you, I've played Madden since the beginning and 2K since the beginning so I am no one's fanboy. On to my thoughts.....Sound Most of the reviews talk about the two fictional announcers. They do a good job, but I do agree that next year they should get the ESPN crew to do the game. There are lines that have been used since the first 2K. Some of the new lines are funny.i.e. The 3 stooges joke. BUT... what I like about the sound is just like WS Baseball, there is fan interaction in the stands. Not just the standard DEFENSE! DEFENSE! You'll hear things like "C'mon (your team here) we need a first down!, "What kind of pass what that?!" You can't coach that! (Sorry, had to throw in that line.)Gameplay The gameplay for 2k3 is basically the same since it's first one on the Dreamcast. The exception is that the running game has been greatly improved.I will admit that the menus could and should be changed because basically they stink. Menus aside, this game plays a good game of football. People who get frustrated with the passing should take the time to go into pratice mode. After while you should get it down. One negative thing abouth the passing though:it is supposed to have touch passing i.e. bullet, lob, but you have to MASH THE BUTTON to do a touch pass, MASH THE BUTTON to do a bullet pass. The button response time for passing could be improved, but it is not a game killer.Madden does this better.Would you like to Comment? I personally think both game are great and u can't go wrong with either one. I haven't played this version of Madden but I'm pretty sure its good. I've been playing the 2k series ever since dreamcast. So I think 2k3 is better than Madden. EA Sports sucks, their sports games always look and play like garbage, except for Madden. That's only sports game that was pretty good. EA has the worst basketball games, decent hockey games, and absolutely the most terrible baseball games. Their football series was the best, but I never really got into Madden even when it was on the sega genesis back then. I never thought it sucked, but there was always another football game I preferred over Madden. In the early 90s its was Joe Montana football, Mid 90s its was NFL gameday for the (PS)and now its NLF2k. The point I'm trying to make is, your gonna play the same football game that u stuck by for years. Some people grew up playing Madden ever since sega genesis and saw a better and better game ever year. So their use to Madden and when play another football game, automatically they think is garbage. No matter how many times they play it, Madden will always be their choice. The same goes with NLF2k, lots of people have been playing NFL2k ever since dreamcast and think its the next generation football game franchise. So if your thinking about purchasing a football game buy the one that you've always been playing neither one is better than the other. I'm pretty sure both game have the same amount of negatives and positves.Sound The same as all the other NFL2K game, greatGameplay Practice, Pratice, Pratice. The passing game is tough and requires lots of pratice. Because if u don't your gonna be getting frustrated very quickly. U have know how to pass or you'll be intercepted all the time. The AI in this game is very impressive. I agree with the reviewers that when you catch the ball and computer knocks it out, it does get frustrating, you might end up breaking your controller on the floor. That why you have to pratice on pratice mode. You have to know when to throw a high floating pass or bullet pass. The gameplay requires skills cause the computer is a challenge. If you learn how to pass your gonna enjoy this a lot. Running game is smooth very smooth the juke move are wickit. When the computer does the moves on you its not fun at all. I think they break too many tackles, only solid hits is the only way for a take down. There not many negatives about the gameplay just the passing could get frusrtating and on defense stoping the run is tough, too many broken tackles. Average running backs run like hall famers.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Believe it or not, I have NEVER played any of Sega's NFL 2K series of football games up until I rented NFL 2K3. I own an XBOX, PS2, and an N64 and I have played virtually every other football game there is, but never a Sega football game. In the past, I never had the urge to play any of Sega's offerings of football games, but this year seemed different. In the beginning, I wanted to believe the hype about NFL 2K3, so I gave the game a try. I rented the game from Blockbuster and played it exclusively over the course of three days. What I found is that while NFL 2K3 is not bad overall, it definitely is not as good as it has been hyped up to be. I personally would not feel bad if Sega stopped making it. Overall, I think Madden 2003 offers better gameplay, graphics, and overall sense of reality. NFL 2K3 seemed more arcade like to me. The game play was closer to what NFL Fever had to offer. For a first timer, I can say that playing NFL 2K3 was not a bad experience. I just enjoy the others a little more.If one is looking for a comparison, I personally would say that Madden 2003 for the XBOX is the better game. Madden is more detailed than NFL Fever and NFL 2K3. Your opinion may vary. Sound Madden and Micheals are hard to beat in my opinion, yet Sega does a pretty good job with the play by play. If I had my choice, I'd still go with real announcers over fictional ones, but I heard nothing in NFL 2K3 that would make me want to run out and by it based on sounds of the game. To me, it was no more better or no more worse than Madden. All of this fuss |
