I bought the DC a few years ago. At that time I thought the DC was the best system intill the Gamecube comes out. I was right!! Sega has good games and graphics so almost any owner of the system will just keep coming back for more and more games. Just like me!Sound The Sound is ok. Effects and play back are normal but the DC does tend to make more sounds than the PS2.All in all the Dreamcast is a great system that should not have gone out of bussiness. If you want a good system but you only have $60.00 get the Dreamcast. I you have over $150.00 then go out and get the Gamecube. PS - The Dreamcast always lives on in my mind. Gameplay The Sega Dreamcast is a great system. The gameplay is Good but could be better. You can play Music Cd's and CDR's. There memory cards are the best out there. It's a VMU. You can actully download mini games to the VMU. Such as Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Now lets talk about the games. There games are okay! I hate House Of the Dead 2, Sega GT, Illbleed, and Dino Crisis. The games I like are in Categories listed below.Action Games - Virtua Cop 2, and DOA 2 Adventure Games - Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Frogger 2, and OOGA BOOGA Sports Games - NHL 2k2, NFL 2k, Championship Surfer, and Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 and 2 Racing Games - Crazy Taxi 1 and 2, Demolition Racer No Exit, Wild Metal, GTA 2, and Super Runabout San Fran Edition. Summary I bought a dc because i seen loads of screen shots of Phantsy Star online so i just had to buy it like crazy i didnt get off it for about a week until i started playing online. But once i went over to my friends i played his xbox then i thought what a big waste of money like come on you have to buy a DVD remote for it thats sad.Sound Sound was as clear asa bell or a whistle. Gameplay The game play was amazingit was like i was playing nfl2k in the big leagues man. Then i had to play NHL2k if i thought NFL2k was good well i just got lucky. Would you like to Comment? With its list of good titles and cheap price tag, this system surely will make a good pass time for people without the budget to buy a PC, a PS2 or an X-BOX.Sound The sound is crisp and clear and is capable of 3d effects like echo, chorus, and some sound muffling. Its like listening to a game running on a Sound Blaster live sound card.Gameplay This system has a good plethoria of game titles. Most of what I have played are arcade titles like Spawn, Powerstone2, and other capcom fighting games and all of them are perfect ports of the coin-op version. Fun factor is the purpose of console games and Dreamcast hits the spot when it comes to giving you this perk. Armed with a 56k modem, multiplay on console is now a reality. (although I haven't tested multiplayer games here I expect to have some lag issues.) The controller is somehow ergonomically designed for people with small hands since it will give cramps on people with large hands. With an analog directional controller and two analog triggers, playing on racing titles is a blast. But playing it on 6 button fighting games is awkward (It has a digital directional controller but buttons are hard to press since it has only 6 buttons... 4 on the thumb pressing side and two on top) It has four controller sockets in which will make a good party entertainment (especially on Powerstone2).Would you like to Comment? I can't believe that this system was not supported by more gamers. I was one of the ones that was sucked in by Sony - I got the PSX and was going to wait for PS2, but got out of gaming before PS2 came to be and I missed the DC ship! Last week I was in EB and about to purchase 2 PO Xbox games when I noticed the flier for 29.99 DC! I rushed over to the DC shelf, picked up HOD2 and Wacky Races and A VMU, went to the counter and asked for a DC. Rushed home, hooked it up and was shocked!! Great gameplay, graphics and sound. I would have to say this think gives PS2 a run for it's money. Then I noticed that this thing had a modem-built in!! I have ordered the webbrowser cd and I can't wait to play online! I hope people still play this thing!! I wish Sega had not dropped out of the hardware market, things would be interresting with Sega, Sony, MS and Nintendo battling it out.Sound Again, depends on the game. Overall the games that I have played seem to have decent sound.Gameplay Controller: At first I was sceptical of the controller, it just did not feel right. I am comfortable with the madcatz for Xbox. I guess the hand grips for the DC controller feel too "thin", but I can deal with this controller.Would you like to Comment?
