Even X BOX may be defeated in term of Total Customer Value. I purchased it 1 week ago for $200 completed (System, 2 controller, Modem, Keyboard Converter, Memory Card, 10 CD/ Piracy ^_^, Puru-puru Pack). It is the great console. I'm posting through my lovely DC. The games themselves are great quality. Let say: RE: CODE VERONICA, TONY HAWK PRO SKATER 2, SONIC ADV., GRANDIA 2 AND SUPERB DEAD OR ALIVE 2. Damn! Why SEGA stopped the production. I think it is the mismanagement or SEGA failure's strategy, but I BELIEVE DREAMCAST IS REBIRTH SOON. I assume that SEGA just doing a trick ^_^.Sound ***** (Yamaha rulsz!!!)Gameplay GODDAMN COOL!, except the controller, especially for playing CAPCOM VS SNK, it suffers me! (my thumb!). Fast loading time, beautiful graphic, superb sound, online capability, BLEEMCAST (WOW!!!!), i think if BLEEMCAST has released, DC will beat all the Consoles remains (except X BOX ^_^).Would you like to Comment? Summary It's a shame that the Dreamcast isn't getting the attention that it deserves. I guess it's because the fact it doesn't have Mario, Pokemon, or the company name of SONY so people write it off without even thinking about it. This is truely one of the best systems ever made. It has everything for it. Forget Madden, NFL 2K1 is the best football game ever made. Unreal Tournament for the PS2? Ha, try on the Dreamcast where online mode is present. Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure, Jet Grind Radio, Shenmue, Phantasy Star Online, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, NFL/NBA 2K1, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Space Channel 5, Soul Calibur, Quake 3: Arena, Unreal Tournament, Test Drive: Le Mans, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Typing of the Dead, Daytona USA, Metropolis Street Racer, Dead or Alive 2, Skies of Arcadia...not to include the newer titles coming out like World Series Baseball, NFL, NBA, NHL 2K2...Shenmue 2, Crazy Taxi 2, Sonic Adventure 2, Half Life, Soldier of Fortune, Jet Grind Radio 2, Phantasy Star Online Version 2...you get the picture.Sound I'm not a spec freak so I really didn't look into how many channels or what the system is or whatever but...CD quality sound coming from a 128 bit system...Can you expect anything less than greatness? No comment needed.Gameplay Gameplay? Well um, it depends on what game yer playin doesn't it? LOL...Anyway, first person shooters are pretty good considering the DC supports the keyboard and mouse option for games like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament. The controller can be a bit tricky but really it's not much of a hassle(Tony Hawk 2 for the PSX for example has easier controls than the DC version). It really depends on what game is being played but the games on here have taken up my time more so then when I was playing on my Playstation.Would you like to Comment? Summary Simply put, Sega Dreamcast is the best videogaming console ever released. Not ever once has a console had so many great games released one after another for weeks or even months at a time. There was definitly more than one point in the life of the Dreamcast where there were so many AAA-titles (triple-A titles) that you couldn't buy them all! You were forced to decide which one(s) you could get. All of the hardcore fans know exactly what I'm talking about.Sound Let's see -- if you put 64 sound channels with 2 megabytes dedicated to sound with a Yahama sound processor, all while up to 100mhz from the CPU -- (obviously not the CPU's highest, and obviously no game really uses this much, expect for some wacky import music games) -- is pumping away at mind-blowing effects, you're going to be slap-happy. Hook it up to a home entertainment-theatre, and you're going to become fried bacon. Yeha, it's that good. B) [smilyface with sunglasses]Gameplay Hmm, let's see. We've got Sonic Adventure 1/2, Shenmue, Phantasy Star Online, Crazy Taxi 1/2, NFL, NBA, Metropolis Street Racer, Skies of Arcadia (best game ever), Test Drive Le Mans, and so much more! I feel bad for not listing all of the games that I have or feel deserving attention. But, why should I need to, as you only need to go so far as to play almost any game off of the shelf of your store's Dreamcast section to realize how well the games are compared to any other in videogame history.Would you like to Comment? Summary i've owned the dreamcast for a month now, and around the time i decided to purchase this machine, i learned it was to be discontinued. i bought it anyway, and i am very impressed with it's power. you see, i have owned a N64 since 1997, and i'm a big sports series junkie, so i needed a system that would produce a 2002 series of games, and immediately i thought of dreamcast. i have never been a fan of sony, so playstation never entered my thinking. i never liked the buttons for the playstation, nor impresses with sony shooting out games. but to be honest, the N64 isn't that impressive either. with the dreamcast, and at it's bargain price, you get a powerful machine which is finally getting the credit it deserves.Sound cd sound, cd quality. play your cd's, all that jazz.Gameplay the games load quick, are easy to save, and follow an arcade format which makes video games exciting. 8 out of 10 games for this system are worth buying. the super smash pack(classics like golden axe, revenge of shinobi, altered beast, sonic, and dreamcast intros virtua cop and sega swirl) is a great deal for only $120Would you like to Comment? Summary It's so unfortunate to see a system get the saying, " So close yet so far." TheDreamcast is an excellent console. It could also (arguably) be the best system ever created. However, this fantastic machine became an under dog because of that past SEGA systems. And now people are buying it. Maybe because the DC is 100 dollars now, or maybe they just realized that this console is awesome. But now its legacy is over. SEGA still plans on making many more games for it, but still it's been cheated for two years. The Dreamcast is definitely next-gen heaven. Personally, you'd be very foolish to miss on a great system with a 100 dollar price tag on it, with quality, inexpensive games. The Dreamcast is still thinking... Sound Sound is pure bliss. 64 channels, clear as a bell. It doesn't matter how crummy your TV's sound is. The sound is really good. Here is the DC score sheet: Worth the 100 bucks: Yes Has all the things that a gamer enjoys: Yes Breaks through and innovate the gaming world: Yes Any buys?: Some, but they don't stand out Enough, quality games: YES! All I'm saying is that the DC is a wonderful buy, and it would be a shame to see such a great system be wasted and segregated. Gameplay The Dreamcast has wonderful gameplay. You'll get used to its really nicecontroller and its buttons and positions. The DC controllers four button layout is great, and its two triggers on the back fits well. The d-pad is comfortable, and the joystick is positioned well too. The Dreamcast is remarkable in stats too. It loads pretty fast and so do the games. It has a 200 mhz processor, which isn't so fast compared to the other next gen consoles. So it is remarkable to see the DC load faster than a PS2. Would you like to Comment?
