The Hulk for PlayStation 2 Videos >>
Summary Hulk Smash! The hulk is here at last and is here to awe gamers with his incredable strength and his various fighting skills to pound the dookie out of those pain in the neck soldiers and villians. Well he did do that, but he forgot one thing, and thats the ability to make you want to keep playing the game again once you've beaten it a few times. This is one of those games hoping to sell a few quick bucks to go along with the movie. My advice to you is to Rent it and just see the movie.Sound Sound is average. Some songs are good but just bore you. I listened to Linkin Park as I played this game. Voice acting is good, but Eric Banna(he plays Hulk in the movie) sounds bored in the game.Gameplay Okay this is a hulk game right? So what does he do best? Cause mayhem and destruction as much as possible! The hulk is a basic thumb mashing game that sores you in a few minutes. They did give you some moves but after 10 minutes you've most likely seen em all. Now the game has a twist....instead of it being all crazed violence it has some stealth! ooooh!! but personally they tried to copy splinter cell and failed miserably.I mean prepare to be angery as you continually fail as Bruce Banner's missions. You can also interact with the environment. Not that big a deal.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. I am only eleven years old. I beat this whole game only once for fourteen hours I think. I understand that Bruce Banner's levels are hard, but it still fun though. I don't blame you if you stuck on level seven. That level is big. That match code was hard too. But I beat it. I can't beat this game again. Thanks to level seven. I remember that where you got to get on the thing where dogs are sleeping, first you got to get through the fence. That's where I was stuck. I know that he got to run to get through the fence, but he is not doing it anymore. If you have questions you can email me them. But don't ask about the fence thing. So, if you got to do somekind of special running through that fence that I didn't mentine. Give an email so I will know. But I don't really expect anybody too know that. I am a little dummy erased all my levels, now I got to start whole thing over. But it still lots of fun in this game. I give the best garde 5/5.Sound Sound is awsome. That's another thing why I love this game so much. Sound actually means a lot to me in this game. It was little boring when hulk keep on yelling the same. I like his sound more in a movie, cause he yells more like a tiger, so I give the best grade to sounds and that is 5/5.Gameplay This game is so cool. I like the way its challenging when villains get healed. And the enemies are cool. Like Energy vampire Half-Life. The more you hit him the stornger he gets. Madman is gigantic, but when you fight against him on the last level. He is weak like a soldier. Flux needs to watch his mouth with hulk: like I remember one time he said put me down sweetheart. Sweetheart? I wonder why he said that. That little snapper teenger better watch him going against tiger hidden dragon hulk. Ravage is strong has the same moves as hulk but little faster and hulk doesn't do kick like Ravage. Leader is the strongest villain. He is strong and especially at the second part. Mutins coming to help him. I like one level where you got to fight against Madman and Half-Life. First you got to beat up Madman because he is a baby. When you take out little more than a half of his lifes he is gonna run, so then you got to deal with Half-Life. No wonder Madman at the last level weak like a soldier and looks like a monkey just got hitted by a truck. I think this game is fun. I give the best grade for gamepaly:5/5.Would you like to Comment? Summary By the time I’d finished playing The Hulk, my face was turning green, my thumbs were bulging, and I found myself hurling my controller through the living room wall. Let’s face it: The Hulk is a pretty disappointing game.Sound Lame voice acting disrupts a pretty good effort at sound design. Pulse-pounding explosions rock your speakers whenever the Hulk smashes a wall or generator. Bad guys sound creepy enough. But Bruce Banners “thought” comments were so dull that I felt like I was playing an interactive soap opera. These interjections were designed to present objectives and provide flow to the gameplay, not to lull gamers to sleep.Ultimately, Bruce’s own voice sums up the entire game. After about the fifth time trying to crack the number sequence puzzle, Bruce himself says: “This is frustrating.” You know what, I totally agree. Gameplay The story line sends you to Alcatraz island in pursuit of the Gamma-villain known as Ravage. Along the way, you have to plow through waves of bad guys, try to rescue Betty Ross, and find a cure for your own Gamma-induced Hulkness. A decent premise, ruined by sluggish game play. The Hulk himself has some cool attacks. He can deliver a devastating sonic clap that sends enemies flying. Also, he makes some fun grappling moves, complete with throws, head-slaps, and body slams. But after about the third cut screen, the game begins to feel repetitive. I blame the uninspired level design: Run down a hallway, bust through a wall, beat up three or four soldiers, repeat ad infinitum. The stealth levels also disappoint. They’re just not as imaginative or sophisticated as other titles out there. Crouch down, dodge a searchlight, move a box, repeat. I thought the unlockable gameplay modes would spice things up, but again, they were too repetitive to be fun for more than five minutes. Worst of all are the code-breaking sequences. I started hating the game when they came up. It seemed more luck than strategy, as I had to try each one repeatedly until the reset happened to give me a doable puzzle. Would you like to Comment? Yea, you get to smash and throw things and people, but that get's old, fast. They could have put a little more effort into the gameplay; like giving you more options with Hulk and Bruce Banner. Or they could have just eliminated Bruce Banner's stealth missions altogether. Wondering why I say that? Well, first off you don't get a weapon with him. Second of all, your only okay attack is shoving the enemy to the ground, which 9/10 times they block it. And last, it's just not fun. And if you like me and like realistic games, do not choose this one! It takes a good 15 shots to kill Bruce Banner. And when you're the Hulk, you can smash your enemy to the ground and stomp on their heads, and yet they still manage to get up. As an overall score, I give it a 2/5. Would I recommend this game to buy, no. To rent, ummm maybe if nothing else is in. It will keep you busy for a few hours, but trust me, it's not near as good as the other comic book games!Sound The sound has it's advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I think they could have done more with the Hulk in this area. He maybe only has 5 or 6 different noises, when everyone knows he really has about 100 or more. Also during gameplay, other characters will be talking and their mouth will stop moving. Sound familiar? Godzilla ring a bell? Well, we all know this isn't Godzilla. I give the sound area a well deserving 3/5.Gameplay As I mentioned before, the gameplay could be better. It is cool being "The Hulk" but trust me, by the time you make the last level, you'll be asking yourself, "Is this ever going to end?" I have to admitt, when you first start out playing the game, it's alot of fun. But once you get a litte bit farther and have to fight the mutated soldiers, it get's boring, FAST! The Bruce Banner so called Stealth missions are terrible. Don't believe me? Then ask the Gaming Experts at X-Play and Game Winner and any other gaming society, they'll say the same exact thing. You have no options with Bruce, other than hiding and walking and running. You get no weapons, and when you try to do your only attack on an enemy, it's a good chance you'll get shoved down and then they start to shoot you, which sounds off all the alarms and wakes up the mutated dogs. A good factor about gameplay is most all of the enviroment around you is totally distructable. Which one of the only things that keeps you playing. Overall, I give the gameplay a 2/5.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. You can pick upthings, everything, like soldiers and large objects and throw them. When I first played the game, I didn't expect much because of bad reviews but when I played it was great. I think it is way better than Spider Man and I love that game. I think this is not just a game for little kids, it's for everyone who loves to play a great game that never gets old.Sound Well what can I say, I'm not much on ragging a game out by the sound, but the hulk has no problem in the sound of the game. It's really clear.Gameplay Gameplay is great. There is more action than in most action games I've played. In any place that the game slacks, the cheats make up for.(there not many slacking parts to the game. I think anybody will love to play this game that likes a game that you can do anything on.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary This is "THE GREATEST SUPERHERO GAME" i have ever played. At first i didn't really wanna see the movie, but this is game is what made me wanna see it. it was a twist of events and really long story how i got this game, but i am NOT willing to type all that up. THE GAME IS AWESOME, GO BUY IT even if your not a fan. I am soo freaking glad i got this gameSound The sound of blowing up stuff and breaking through walls is soo satisfying! The music is low tuned but its still noticable and gets you in the mood of blowing more stuff upTHE GAME ROCKS!!! Gameplay The gameplay is pretty awesome. I feels so awesome to be able to blow up everything and all. Plus its so cool how u can use stuff as weapons. This game lets out alot of steam, plus its not that easy eihter. I thought it would be a snap but its pretty hard, cause u have to play with bruce banner and the hulk. Its cool though because even though some parts a really hard its still fun (unless your really really impatient). The game is so simple and it still rocks Would you like to Comment? Older gamers may get tired of the same game play mechanics over and over and also the shotty camera.Sound Sound is great.Gameplay Game play progresses ala FINAL FIGHT where you basiclly pummle opponents with different attacks. everytime you attack your rage meter builds up and allows you to do special attacks. While a great rental i wouldnt recommend buying this game as it is geared more toward kids. The camera is a huge issue as you have NO control over it. There are alot of extras to unlock like movie footage and pics of the set but in the end its not enough to save a game with the same ole gameplay level after level.Would you like to Comment? Summary Boy am I glad I only rented this game. As a Hulk fan (I subscribe to the comic), I had to say that I was disappointed with this game. The story mode was way too short, and it was totally lacking a story. I beat it in less than two days, playing only a few hours a day. There are however some bonus endurance and time attack modes that give the game some replay value. All in all though, I don't think this game is worthy of more than a rental. If you're a hardcore Hulk fan and want to play as the Hulk smashing things, then buy this game. But if you're a video game fan looking for a good game, I'd skip this one. Hell, I'm a Hulk fan and I didn't even like it that much. Sound Aside from repetitive lines from opponents (which many games sadly suffer from), the sound was perfect. All of the Hulk's movements and attacks are followed by realistic thumping and smashing noises. The voice overs during CG sequences are also well acted and clear.Gameplay Hulk smash. A lot. The gameplay switches back and forth between controlling the Hulk, and his counter part Bruce Banner. As the Hulk, you beat the crap out of a enemies with weapons ranging from your fists to steel beams. (On a side note I got really annoyed at pimp smacking regular soldiers with something like a huge rock and seeing them get up so I could smack them again two more times before they died. Shouldn't the Hulk be able to squash regular people like that with his pinky toe?) The Hulk levels are fast paced and fun at first, but I quickly found them to be repetitive. For me, that wasn't helped much by the fact that 90% of the Hulk's attacks revolve around the Square button. Combos included. There's the combo where you press Square, Square, and Square. Then there's another combo where you have to press Square, Square, (Delay), and Square. And yet another combo where you have to press Square, Square, (Delay), Square, Square. You get the idea. Most Hulk levels have an unlimited number of opponents attacking you, where the goal is not to kill them all, but to kill enough so that you can move on to the next room/area. To do so you often have to smash through walls and metal doors, which was pretty cool. All of the Banner levels were horrible. They are all stealth type missions where you have to go from point A to B, flipping switches and moving crates along the way. The Banner levels totally destroy the pace of the game. Although taking a break from smashing could have been a nice change of pace, it could have been done much better. Would you like to Comment? Summary I can't beleive how good this game is!!!! This game is what I like to call pure fun! If you like great graphics, great gameplay, great sound, and pure smash it up fun, go out right now and get this beautiful game!!!!Sound This game really shines in this department too, there is a lot of chaos in this game and the sound really let's you know about it, it makes you feel like you are actually in the middle of the action!Gameplay This game is two sided, on one hand as expected you play as the Hulk, Hulk has many moves he can make and for the most part after a 30 minute learning curve you can execute them with little effort. Hulk can smash just about anything, he can pick up and throw just about anything, the first time I picked up a soldier and threw him out a window I almost fell off the couch, it's awesome! You also have to pull off some stealth missions as Bruce Banner, The missions are somewhat challenging, but if you have played Metal Gear Solid you will be able to breeze right through them.Would you like to Comment?
