Summary This game is simply the best proper sim I have ever played on any machine, it is along side games such as Grand PRix Legends on the PC, reason is that it is hyper realistic, if your someone who does not like a challange then buy something like F1 career challange and enjoy arcade racing as apposed to real racing.Sound Sound is superb, the engine tone varys brilliantly from low to high speeds and is very usefull for telling you when its time to pull out behind the guy you are slipstreaming and burn past him (before crashing at the approaching corner).Gameplay This is of course the most important aspect of a racing game and most games, the gameplay is very tough and requires a resonable knowlege of racing cars and how they work if your going to get much out of it, dont expect the car to react to your ford escort at home, its often funny to see guys who consider themselves good drivers reckon they will find it easy only to find out that racing cars are slightly different in nature. The steering is, as it should be, totally dependent on the acceleration and braking as well as the steering wheel itself which is the case with most racing machines particularly in F1, Indy and kart series. Your car setup is totally vital to your cause and this game nearly always requires a different setup for both qualifying and racing, if you ignore this you will often find yourself struggling in the race at the back of the pack with a full tank of fuel wondering what the hell happened to your record braking qualifying lap. The car responds great to the controls and you get a fantastic sensation of speed, the game includes a masterclass session which is excellent especially if you are new to some of the aspects of racing around in circles! You are alo given a good explanation in the garage of what each feature you can alter on your car does. Overall though the gameplay and handling is top, overtaking someone at 240MPH is seriously exciting and I find that rare in most of the games out there at the moment particularly on the X-Box at present, MotoGP2 the only other game that comes close in hardcore racing thrills. Trust me, this game will last you years.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Overall, this game is very fun and addicting. The AI is good and it does require you to learn how to set your car up and be able to make changes to it on the fly. Graphics were pretty ps2ish but when you are racing you don't really notice it much. I think just to be able to race the Indy 500 is worth the 40 bones. Its a great 1st effort in for this type of racing. They should add more for the next one. (making you own car) Sound Great, It sounds like the real thing. a little more advice from the pit crew would be nice.Gameplay Gameplay is this games best asset. Its challenging and it teaches you how to make your car better. Racing on the pro setting will be like the real thing. You have to change your fuel mixure for more speed or better gas milage and the weight distibution from front to back which helps you make the cars turn better.Would you like to Comment?
