Summary

the game is awesome.From the moment it started to the moment it ended, I was blown away by how good the game is.everything about it is flawless. the graphics,the enemy AI,and the smooth nonstop action. you are master cheif, a spartan(some kind of super robot). your mission,basicly...kill everthing non human. More specific, the covanent. An alien race bent on destroying mankind. The game is fairly short, spanning only 10 levels. However, some of the levels can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to complete. The game really shines during co opp. Most co opp games lose some graphic and gameplay quality, but halo seems to maintian all its greatness even during multiplayer.It would have been nice to see some kind of online mode, or at least bots in multiplayer. Thats right,unless you have two xboxs to play system link,your CTF, and deathmatch's can only hold up to 4 players. but set that aside, its all about the single player experience.When the game first came out it was awesome, now almost 3 years old and 30 dollars cheaper the game still rocks.Best game ever...that is until halo2 comes out later this year

Sound

very good.All the gun shots are very realistic,great vice acting. And the sound of the plasma weapons is awesome

Gameplay

flawless. nonstop action. unlike every other fps you can only carry 2 weapons and 2 types of grenades,both human and covanent.Human weapons consist of a pistol,assualt rifle,shotgun,sniper rifle, and frag grenades. Covanent weapons are plasma pistol, plasma rifle, needler(shoots exploding needels), and plasma grenades(stick to target and then explode.the grenades are actualy a secondary weapon.the grenades have their own botton.just pull the left trigger and off goes the grenade.you never have to worry about running out of ammo. if you do, just come up behind an enemy and hit him in the head, then take his weapon. There are also trucks with gun turrets on the back. for instance: in co opp one player can drive while the other mans the gun. A tank,one person can drive and shoot while the other sits on the side and shoots their own weapon. A ghost, a covanent vehicle that ripidy shoots plasma,and a banshee,kind of a flying ghost with a plasme rocket launcher. Very simple controls.

Summary

Halo is a futuristic first-person shooter which was hyped up to be the best game ever. The game takes place thousands of years in the future on a ring-shaped planet known as "Halo." You are put into the MJOLNIR Armor Suit of the Master Chief, a genetically enhanced supersoldier who has been sent to obliterate an enemy so powerful, you couldn't imagine it in your worst nightmare--The Covenant. During your adventure, you discover many hidden passage ways, and shortcuts, and secret tunnels to make your mission less difficult. In almost all of the levels in Halo, you fight off the oppressors with teams of Marine soldiers, not as powerful or highly trained as you, so instead of them protecting you, you will most likely find yourself protecting them.

Sound

The sound is next to horrible. Your assault rifle sounds like crap, and every other sound effect in this entire game is complete turd.

Gameplay

The gameplay is excellent when you play the game for the first time. When you are playing through the levels, you feel as if you never want to take your hands off of that XBox controller. HOWEVER, once you have beaten the game, the replay value drops on you like a lead weight. Once the game has been beaten, no matter what difficulty you have it set to the second time around, it is the same boring crap you got when you played it the first time. The only difference with the difficulties is that the higher the difficulty, the harder the game is (obviously), but your enemies do the same combat maneuvers, and the levels are exactly the same, just harder. And even so, it is extremely easy to beat Halo on the hardest difficulty, Legendary. I give the gameplay a 3 out of 5.

Summary

Solid title for an inexperienced gamer. Anyone who knows anything about videogames will agree that Halo is an overated, repetitive Block Buster. I don't want to down play this game, but some serious changes need to be made if Bungie hopes to have Halo 2 be just as successful. Frankly I think that Bungie is very lucky that this game is as big as it is!! They got rich off of a title that many think is very "poor." Halo 2 better not have any repeats during the missions. Rushed development of Halo might have been the reason for all the cutting and pasting I saw, especially during the "Flood" missions. This is where I was really disappointed. The Game is a good three on my Scale.

Sound

The music was done very well. I liked the agressivness of the drums. It made you feel like you were in combat, If not for good music and decent voice overs, multi-player would be the only saving grace.

Gameplay

Same as any other FPS. I did like throwing alot of Gernades though. This gave it a necessary combat effect along with a limited a weapon capacity. Being able to carr 10 different guns is fun buttotally not realistic.

Summary

This game rocks! The graphics are incredible and the multiplayer / split screen options are also very good. It reminds me of playing war and shoot 'em games as a kid. I'm not a big gamer but really enjoy this game and it's complexity.

Ok this was my very first X-box game when i got it back in 2001.Let me start off by saying that this game sets the standards of gaming.This game ,in my opinion, is the best game ever made to this date!!(until Halo 2) It has a awsome story line (i passed the whole game on every difficulty) and a great co-op and a great multiplayer.I will say they could of had bots or X-box live but system link is the best.
