Sound

Sound is perfict amazing from gun fire to the aliens funny talking that sound like the Jawas From Star Wars=) Overall i give sound 1-10 a 10+

Gameplay

The gameplay in Halo is awesome the single player is awesome but the multeplayer is what makes the gamplay a 10 here, I always wanted to go on missions with a friend and embush enemys and make a trap for the bad guys and in Halo you can do that co op mode the biggist high light in Halo also the death matchs in Halo is awesome as well me and my friend battle for hours with jeeps in this cool level hidding behide rocks and snipering the Multeplayer Death matchs are the best yet on a consol shooter, And on top of that single player is amazing too awesome war fights you can get in but nothing beats doing the missons with a friend,I give the Gameplay (single player 1-10 i give it 8/ Multeplayer 1-10 i give it a 10+) Over all 1-10 i give it 9/

Sound

The bass on the plasma weapons is a bit superfluous but then again we don't have those weapons so the people at Bungie can make them sound however the hell they want. The crashes for the Banshee sound like they were taken straight from one of Microsoft's Fight Sim games but they work just the same. Overall great sound on my new Aiwa surround sound system.

Gameplay

The gameplay takes a while to get used to especially if you've spent your last year playing PS2. But I actually think that its harder to go back to the PS2 controller than it is to go to the XBox controller from the PS2 controller. The white button turns on the flashlight, the black button switches grenades, Y switches weapons, X does almost anything plus it reloads and swaps weapons, A jumps and B is a melee attack for when you have a weapon or no ammo or sneak up behind the covenant and smack them in the back. The analog sticks do your moving, the left trigger throws grenades or uses secondary weapons in the Scorpion or Banshee and the right trigger shoots and fires the main weapon on all vehicles. All in all the gameplay is very good.

Summary

Overall, this game exceeds all of what I expected prior to purchase.Unfortuanelty, it doesn't deserve all of the perfect scores and all of the praise that it receives. Halo is a great game that it's game engine alone is worth buying. But due to the few faults that Bungie included in this game, it fails to receive the title of perfect. There are many reasons for why I formulate this decision. For one, the level design. Despite, the beauty of each level and the amount of detail amounted to everything. they are both long and often repetuous. Many times you will walk through 5 different areas that are exactly alike. And to make it worst, many of the levels are as much as an hour long (even with my borther in co-op mode, on normal difficulty, and with the knowledge on how to beat the level!). This is one reason why I loved Goldeneye so much, you could turn on your system and play a level for ten minutes and do something else. But you can't with this game. This game also lack variety. With only ten guns (2 pistols, 2 machine guns, 2 grenades, 1 rocket launcher, 1 shotgun, 1 sniper rifle, and 1 weird gun called a needler) and only 7 enemies including the ones from the hiden race introduced half way through the game, it fails to provide you with unlimited replay value. But don't think because of my long desciption of its flaws that this game is not worth buying. This is a great game that is a must buy for anyone, even if they're like me and hate sci-fi stuff.

Sound

When I first played my Xbox, my sound wasn't working. At first, I played it anyways, and Halo was still fun. But now that it's fixed, it's a load better. The voices from nearby allies and enemies, provides a lot more realism to the gameplay. And the music fits great with the current situation. Good job Bungie.

Gameplay

Halo's engine is the best I've every come across. The enemy AI, the realism provided by the amount of strategy required, and the revolutionary ideas that add up to what could of been the best game made, given that the player would have a good enough level. But what does aquire the "perfect" status is the multiplayer. Soon (maybe even now) with the ability for internet play, this game will tear up all competition.
Finally a game that allows the player to use grenades without having to change back to your gun. Other then half life, this game is unrivaled in this department. As noted before the AI is amazing. Enemies will retreat when outnumbered, avoid you by running around boulders to recharge their shields, and even utiltize military maneuvers suchs as flanking when the chance is provided. Two thumbs up!

Sound

I am not kidding people, this game has probably the best sound I have ever heard in a game. Maybe I don't play enough games, but what other game could you actually distinguish the enemies location by hearing their voice? Not only can you tell if they are far or near, but you can also tell if they are ahead, behind, left, or right of you. When the rest of the crew is yelling at you they sound pretty much authentic. I can hear their voices perfectly and they do a pretty good acting job (aside from the cinematic scenes which were kind of laughable at times).

Gameplay

Beautiful gameplay. It felt like I was actually IN the game as the cheif commander of the fleet. I know that sounds corny but it's true. The soldiers run up to you and warn you of upcoming danger, telling you where to go, and all that other cool stuff. The enemy AI is another good point. They're not the usual enemies that stand out in the open and stay planted on the ground waiting to be shot. These guys run around, warn their partners of trouble arising, hide, and run away whenever out numbered. It's amazing stuff here.

But as I was saying before, the two player mission mode is outstanding. Especially when using the vehicle. You have one player driving while the other's shooting, it's some fun stuff. Just the other day I was playing with my brother and I was driving while he was shooting. I had trouble driving the thing (it requires a little getting used to) so I kept killing him by accident. I ran over him about 3 times and inadvertantly drove off a cliff (I managed to jump off the vehicle but he had no time so he just flew off the cliff with it). It was a shame to die so many times but it was some hilarious stuff.

Sound

A game like this wouldn't be great without a great soundtrack. The songs are awesome. They'll keep you on your toes and wake you up when you thought it was over.
Let's not forget dialogue. The voice acting is pretty good and so are the aliens'. I must admit my only gripe was that I couldn't hear some of the characters voices well, but then one day I'll have a great surround sound stereo system, I hope!

Gameplay

This is not your average FPS (First-person shooter). My roommate uses the phrase, "run and gun". While you may be doing alot of this, I must say that strategy is key to most situations.
Many of you who have or will play Halo have most likely played Half-Life. I loved Half-Life but what seperates this game from others is the added realism this game has. I'm not talking graphics. We'll get to that later. I'm referring to one specific thing. Carry weight. In the game Halo, you are allowed to carry just two guns, and two sets of grenades, (eight total) at any given time. This may piss you off but if you are the kind of gamer that gives a game a poor rating for something like this or something like, "This game is too hard!" then I suggest a good game of Half-Life.
Fortunately there are four great difficulty modes: Easy, normal, heroic, and legendary. These modes adjust the amount of aliens and the amount of damage they take. The covenant are sometimes stupid, but many times they will psyche you out. Now, when I first played Halo, I started on the setting of Normal. After finishing the game I
decided to go straight to Legendary which can bring many hours of enjoyment and cursing.
Let's discuss weapons. You can use both human and covenant. I don't want to give it away but yes, there is a sniper rifle and yes, it is bad as hell.
Another great thing in this this FPS is that you can use vehicles and aircraft to gun down your enemies. Again you're allowed to use both human and covenant machines.
You're not alone in this. Occasionally, throughout the game, you'll fight side by side with your marines. They're not much help, as they are only human, but if you can get them into, say, a Warthog, you're in for a great time. The warthog is my favorite vehicle. Looks like a futuristic version of a hummer. Find one of these, get in the drivers seat, make sure a couple of marines get in with you (one riding shotgun and one on the rotational .50 caliber machine gun), and you'll get so sucked in you'll be dreaming, Halo.
Overall, the gameplay is great. I must admit when I first bought my Xbox, the controller put up a great fight. I had a terrific time getting used to the controls. One stick moves the master chief's movements left, right, up, and down. The other moves the camera angle. It may sound complicated but give it time. You may end up liking it better than a keyboard and mouse.

Sound

Sound is lively as well. The surround sound helps you to indicate where an alien is and how they are approaching you. Their foot steps are low and sneeky. When you do find them, the sound of the rifle hitting thier hard bodies, you feel right at home. Sound is great and realistic.

Gameplay

Gameplay is where Halo is at its best. Let me start off with the Multiplayer. It can run from 2-16 players. You can choose from over 10 places to fight and there are about 20 modes of play, such as King of the Hill. This is a very unique type of play. In this mode you control a certain area for 2 minutes. You kill each other for control. There are many other types of gameplay such as classic deathmatch, etc. In multiplayer you can verse each other or verse the aliens. There are so many things to do, you should be busy for a least a year.

Sound

The sound is just shattering. hook up dolby digital and here the aliens try to sneak around you only for you to turn around and blast them. The grenades go off and the neighbors call up wanting to know what the heck was that. The sound is that good.

Gameplay

The gameplay is brillant. The controlls are so good you will feel like your holding a plasma rifle right there in your own living room. The vehicles are a little touchy at first(remember to look at the blue arrow while driving. Which ever way it is pointing is the way your vehicle will travel)but once you get used to it it is awesome. The A.I. is some of no scratch that it is the best i've ever seen. The covenent never do the same thing twice. They will sneak up on you, attack you in groups, they will even use one for bait just to draw you into their commrads line of fire. The multiplayer is so good my friend and I are actually thinking about renting out a office in town setting up a network and having 16 player halo tourneys with prize money. We have already hosted 8 player tourneys at his house and it was the most fun playing a game i've ever had. You owe to yourself to get this game it is equally good wether your by yourself our with friends.
