The graphics are awsome. The classic game. An advanced recreation of the old versions. But dont let that make you change your mind about this game. It kicks a**s. The best part were the replays.Sound The sound was O.K. The tunes went well with the enviroment, but they just didn't have that feel. But the game draws you away from that problem. The caracters voices, though rarely heard, were classics. Exept maybe Bowser. The zoom of the speed boost was good.Gameplay The controls are very simple. They are simple to master. Each caracter has their own traits. Bowser, Wario and D.K are fast but have slow acellaration, Toad, Peach and Yoshi have very fast accelaration and Mario and Luigi are balanced. The replays are a good part of this game. To bad theres no slowmotion. The items you can get with the question boxes work well and give you a good deal of help. There are speed boosts that are scattered around the race track that you can use. And each track has its own unique shortcuts and traps. You can play with coins or not. There is quick run, time trial, or tournament. One trick is to press the B button when you slide.Would you like to Comment? It is fun and it keeps you intrested for hours. When your bored it is the best game to play. It is also very fun when you link up with a friend and race and play games with each other. Super Mario Kart is a good game to get if your not that great with video game sor if your oin the middle of beginner and intermidite. It's a great game to get.Sound There is joyful music in the backround while your racing. The music while your racing is choosen by the type of track you have. While your choosing all the things to setup music is also playing. When you get an item a jingle noise comes on and when you skid a loud skidding noise comes. When you win the race champion music comes on.Gameplay You have to race the other characters to get the 1st place trophe. You can race yourself against time or practice racing against the other characters. You get to pick the track you want to race on and the character you want.Would you like to Comment? Summary Ever since I bought a PS2, I haven't really played any of my N64 games or Super NES, so my memory for the games on those systems was very rusty. However, after playing purchasing GBA and the Mario Kart: SUper Circuit, all the memories of those glorious Nintendo games have come back in full force.Sound The sound for the game is mediocre. There is really nothing that stands out but the music fits each level efficiently. The music appears to be from the NES version while the sounds, such as characters being hit by other characters objects, appears to be from the N64 version. Again you can see the conversion of both games into this one, which I believe is not only the best Mario Kart in the series but also one of, if not the best, game for GBA so far.Gameplay The game is very easy to pick up and play. The controls are very efficient and responsive and gives you a sense of complete control over your chosen racer. You can control speed, turning radius, braking time, etc...It's all there. The game itself is wonderful. There are 4 race packages that you are initiall allowed to play. Each package has 4 different tracks in it that each have their own dynamics and characteristics. As soon as you complete all four packages while winning 1 place overall in each package, it is rumored that you can unlock all the classic NES tracks which would add an even greater reason to come back and play again.Would you like to Comment? Summary This game is good for bigginers and hard-core game freaks who need a break from all those frustrating challinge games. The racers( Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, DK, and Wario} are uniqe. I reken this game is EXTREMELY easy but addictive {so what if you can clock it in 2 days?} Basicly if you dont like this game you might as well chuck your GBA out the window.Sound I like the music the most. This was the firsed game i ever played on the system and when i heared them talk i was like ''WTF? I dident know this thing is this advanced!Gameplay The gameplay is cool. In fact, the game play is so mad any dickhead could play it. If you want to win races, pick toad. if you want turning skills, choose Mario or Luigi. Or, if you want super power, pick Bowser.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. It's fun and seems to be worth every penny. But one thing was missing from this game it was the difficulty. This game is way too easy, but is still fun and the replay value is good to. Don't let the ease of gameplay mislead you from buying this classic game.Sound The sound isn't that great. I mean no one actually judges a game by it's sound. It's either you love and are humming along. Or your going to save some battery life and turn off the sound.Gameplay Like I said before this game is easy to beat. It is hard to find a game that has good graphics, good gameplay, and this game has been one of the first Gameboy Advance games and is still a hit. All the characters are of course all-ready famous in the video game world(like Mario, Donkey Kong ect.). There are 3 circuits to choose from 50cc (easy), 100cc (meduim), and 150 (hard). You will want to play this game over and over for months. It's just the perfect game for someone who wants just plain fun, not a long RPG, or a pinball game. I would really recommend this to someone just getting a GBA or there 1st game.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary When this game first came out I was excited because a portable Mario Kart sounded like fun and it was 10 dollars less than everything else on the market (probably because Nintendo made it themselves). It was a lot better than Mario Kart 64, which was WAY too easy, and had great graphics. I really liked the fact that after you beat all of the new tracks in the game you could play the old tracks from Super Mario Kart for the SNES. However, I felt there were some gameplay issues that took away from this game(like the controls), and the multiplayer wasn't really as enjoyable as it should be (but it's better than nothing). Overall, it's a good game that met my expectations when I first played, but it got very boring and repetitive and the sloppy gameplay made me want to throw my GBA out the window sometimes. You won't touch this game for a long time after you've owned it for a while.Sound The sound is pretty good. The music is great, but it can get repetitive and annoying. If you don't like it you can just turn it off. You can hear characters voices in the race, when they pass someone or hit someone with an item. That also gets annoying, but it's not too bad. The rest of the sound affects are pretty good. Overall, the sound is good, but not great.Gameplay I was glad that this was NOT a port from the SNES Mario Kart, as it had original levels, but that you could also unlock the SNES levels too. However, if you play this game enough you will get so mad at it that you won't want to spend time unlocking them. The controls are simple and you should learn them right away, but the way your character moves around on the screen based on your controls is terrible. If you don't time your turns at the exact millo second, at least 60% of the time you would not make the turn. Holding The "R" button can be used to slide turn which can help, but sometimes it really isn't useful and is annoying when it makes you jump instead of pull a slide turn. Sometimes you just want to break, turn yourself around, and go again. It gets very frustrating, especially on certain levels. I also hate how if you don't have any coins you go spinning if you hit anyone, and it's hard not to hit anyone on the narrow track. The multiplayer is ok, but only if everyone has the game. The one cartridge multiplayer stinks. First, everyone has to be Yoshi, one of the WORST turners in the game (I'm not kidding, I got STUCK in corners with him before) and you only get four tracks from the original SNES. I would have sacrificed half of the tracks for at least a couple different characters. Both multiplayers aren't very competitive, but the battle mode in multi pak is pretty fun. Overall, the gameplay is average with several problems.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary If you are planning to get a GBA then you must get this game with it as it is the best racing game for this platform. The problem is that there are no hills to go over like Super mario kart on the N64. There's nothing else i can say really apart from the Gameplay, Graphics and the sound. Rating: %96(Just saying that this is my first review on a GBA game!) Sound The sound is the worst bit of the game. It is so much like the Commodore 64. That is bad. It is jerky in bits and boring. It needs to liven up a bit.Gameplay You can choose the speed for the kart! Wicked! There is 50cc 100cc and 150cc for you to choose. There are loads of tracks and a few you have to unlock like the super nes versions! As i said, there is no hills like in the N64 version. The tracks are completely flat. The opponents are hard to beat and are intelligent. There are loads of weapons like blue and green shells. Would you like to Comment? Especially the level's tunes are cool: (I'll never forget ribbon road!) Good enough to get the game in topshape.Gameplay Gameplay's awesome, even if you can't race. For the elite who are playing this game can use drifting (slide on a corner, it's hard at te beginning, but you'll get used to it!!)If you have beaten the game, you'll have to collect trophies, who are damn hard to get, so there's actually a good replay. Then you will buy Golden Sun as it is so much better. Or if you want a real racing game buy MSR on the Dreamcast!Sound Mario Kart on the Snes had great music. So they repeated it. What else can i say? The music is good, but it isn't going to blow you away. You might even start singing to it (shudder.) Unfourtunatly the voices are very poor and should never have been added(Yoshi's is ok.) Basically the music is good.Gameplay 'A' is go and 'B' is brake. Could it possibly get abymore simple? Yes it can actually. The gameplay sucks. All you do is race around pitifully easy courses (The one's that you can see) and win a few races. There is no feeling of speed or skill and this game offers no rewards. Oh but there are the old snes tracks i hear you say! There are but why dont we all get our Snes's out again and play Mario Kart on that if we want old courses!Would you like to Comment? Summary Ok, lets talk gba racing. You got general racetrack, hovercrafts, ect. But when when you got the worlds favorite Peach saving, Yoshi riding, Bowser beating Mario combined with a Go- kart, this isn't a regular game. Nintendo first looked into this idea back in the 16 bit days, while the Genesis was pumping up the hill in a new high-quality steamer with happy customers, and the doomed turbografx 16 in a bike still with training wheels eating dirt. The Super Nintendo, Which would soon be famous, was that I-think-I-can blue train, chugging with all of it's might trying to get up that steep hill of competition, the public's taste and bitter "I want that now I want that" attitude. What the Super Nintendo needed is a knock-out game, a game that would change gaming for years to come, a game that would just clinch that genesis and say to the public, "sure, its got sonic, but look what iv'e got!" feeling. The super Nintendo had a key lineup of games that would eventually doom the genesis just like the turbografx 16. Those Games were the Super Mario series, the Super Street fighter series, and yes, the moment we've all been waiting for, the start of a new revolation, SUPER MARIO KART! One of Nintendo's successes in the gaming industry that would tear that ol' genesis to bits. This title was not taken lightly. The desighners and producers needed a game that the bublic would buy. Maybe a bowser game, no, not enough power to get in sales. A yoshi adventure? Hmm, that is a possibility. Over some hard thinking, playing the Super Nintendo to find that missing puzzle peace, and staying up all night beleiving and hoping an ideo would pop into their brains, they got it. A game featuring all the mario crew. It be a sucess for sure. It'd have to be centered around mario so the public will buy anything mario realated, and would need a catagory to comply it with. Role-playing, too boring, Action, already have a lot of those games, puzzle, no, racing, hmmm. There were a few good racing titles, but none had the effect that Nintendo was about to spurce. Not car realtated, something fun, hmm, bikes? No, scooters? no, ah. Go-karts. Yes! A mario go kart game! Super mario and friends go-kart, no too long. Short And simple. Super Mario kart. Good. Start Desighning next week, 10 o' clock sharp people go go go!Yes, that commotion in the Nintendo building was something to celebrate. This Game picks up from the snes version using coins, which is fun all its own. What if there wasn't and Mario Kart 64? What would clinch the nintendo 64's racing gener's success? And now, roughly a decade later, Mario Kart Super Curcuit carries on that jubalation the the Nintendo office that night. Sound The sound is done surprisingly well. It goes with every track, is full and crisp. There are many toons to this game, each catchy in it's own way. The sound effects from running in to walls or being hit by a red shells are right on target, and produce a corkscrew affect when hit by a shell or anything else. Overall, the sound is ripe and crisp. No glitches here.Gameplay One of the more important areas of the game, Mario Karts' gamplay isn't shabby at all. There are 3 modes of play, Mario Gp, Quick run, And time trial. Mario Gp is basicly a career mode, Time trial is to set your records and time yourself. Quck run lives up to its name when all you do is a one-time race. The gp part actually is better than predicted. There are 5 race competition per cc, (50, 100, or 150cc, all getting higher in difficulty level.) The last one is the special track, which is unlockable after completing a competition. There are 4 traks per competition, each in its detailed and unique textures and enviroments. Now onto racing. There are 8 characters to choose from, and are rated on speed and weight. Included are, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Toad, Dk, Wario, and Bowser. There is also a random choice. After this option, you choose your difficulty level, 50, 100, or 150 cc, and then the racing begins. First off, you begin in eighth place. The trumpet sounds, and the red light flashes. Yellow. Green! Rev up some speed on that go kart. The gameplay in this game is alot like the 64 version, and its ancester, Super Mario Kart. If you own all of these games, its a little like a chain weaving around, some new features added, but most are the same. What is really cool is that you can actully unlock the Super Mario Kart tracks from the original AND the Mario Kart 64 Tracks. Cool? yep. It gives you a taste of all the super go kart games, and you only need one system. As you start the race, you encounter the "magic Blocks" that give you power ups, just like the past versions. The enviro ment and scrolling veiws are spectacular, from the icy snow to rainbow road. Above all, the cpu's intelligence against everything you do is mind-boggleing. How does Nintendo do it? Every action I make, the character nexts to me reacts. Spellbinding. Alien technology, perhaps. the only thing that glitches a tiny bit is turning. Once you play this game for a long time, you'll get used to it, but for new time players, this is pretty hard. There are techniques out there, like pressing the a button repededly, otherwise, you'll just have to play it for a long time to get used to it. The Gameplay is a big feature needed to succeed in this game, and it is executed nicely. Bravo. Would you like to Comment? Summary A well balanced game that has great sound, top notch graphics, and solid gameplay.Sound No complaints here. Music was well done and there should be no reason to turn the sound down. Actual voice overs and Kart sounds were nice as well.Gameplay It's tough for me to really rate the gameplay. I have only one other friend who actually owns a GBA. So multiplayer is pretty much out of the question. I'm sure four player battle mode is a real blast. Single player is great too. Although I beat all the cc's in less than 3 hours. You get an ugly red sky after you beat the game on all cc levels. Tracks are also incredably short. Some lasting only about a minute. I wouldn't complain about this. Except the for the fact that you can't even change the number of laps in quick run. The power ups are well balanced though. Basically the same power ups from the SNES version and the N64. Turning is also nice looking with the smooth mode 7 scrolling. Overall, very solid gameplay.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Once again Mario and friends hit the the tracks! This time around it also includes the old '92 tracks along with some new ones! The items always get your oppenents in a never ending tantrum. The Single-Pak multiplayer is great, except you can't play battle mode and you are always Yoshi. The sneaky shortcuts are hard to execute but definetely worth a try. The idea of trading Time Trial Ghosts was a nice topping on the already sweet cake. Sound If you plug in head phones the sound is a little different, but I like it. The Star Music is good and so is Rainbow Road's. To enjoy the music, don't touch the volume dial!Gameplay The gameplay is the same. "A" to accelerate, "B" for brakes, Control Pad for steering, and "R" for skidding. "L" will make you launch items. Each character has strengths and weaknesses in Steering, Acceleration, Speed, and Bumping. Give each a try!Would you like to Comment? Nothing special.Gameplay Ugh. You gotta suspect something when the first word in the gameplay review is "ugh". I shouldn't be saying much yet, I dont have all the classic levels, but the new one's just suck. Cartoonish, boring, short. This certainly is the best racing game for GBA. A must buy.Sound Very, very good music. The music is the best part of the sound. There are also very realistic braking and turning sounds. The one thing I didn't like about the sound on this game was when you got hit by something, all you hear is a little "plunk" then your car sliding. If a shell almost as big as your car hits your car, would it really make just that little sound? I don't think so, but the sound is still very good.Gameplay I loved the gameplay. The controls were so easy. You could trick your opponent by shooting a green shell backwards instead of the normal forward way in just an extra touch of a button. I would have to say the gameplay is the best part about Mario Kart.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Bottom Line: Great game that every GBA owner must buy. Buy it now or face the risk of not owning an excellent game for your great system. Another great reason to get this game is that there will probably be some kind of connection between this game and the Gamecube Mario Kart, which will allow for a maximum gaming experience.Sound Spectacular sounds and music that make gamer feel like he's in the kart. The only drawback... the tunes are way too addictive!Gameplay Very, very great gameplay value! Racing other common characters such as DK, Peach, Mario, and Luigi never gets old. The race tracks are very fun while offering numerous shortcuts that improve gameplay.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. The snes version has terrible graphics and cartoonoutlines. The 64 is the best ever mariokart. It was cool to keep the battle format. Although the coins deteriote from this. This game tests the gbas power and is the best racing game for this consle.Sound The sounds for this are awesome and have no gameboy game match. THe best music is from rainbowroad redribbonroad skygarden allbowsers castles and from all of the mariocurcuits. There is also vioce sounds but those are coomon.Gameplay It can get a bit frusterating in some of the hardercups but it is still very fun. You can choose from 8 characters (toads my favorite) each has varios attributes. The game seems amazing for a game boy. Sometimes to turn best you must jump with r. You also use l to shoot.
