Summary Possibly the greatest game ever graphically and good fun to boot. The only real problem is that the computer fast enough to run this thing at top settings has'nt even come out yet.Lots of people are boo-hooing this gae because it runs slow and is a ram hog. Well most of them have 900mhz Pentium III's with GeForce two Vid-Cards. If you have a semi-good computer with a GeForce 3 or higher, this game is a must buy. The rest should stick to good but not great IL-2 Sound Good, standard bangs of a CFS.Gameplay True to life, and has a constant immersion factor. Not perfect but close.Would you like to Comment? If you are running a Radeon card other than 128 MB forget it, 9700 works well with 3GHZ P4. For GeForce Cards 3 and 4 128 MB no problems once the settings are correct.I had the settings cranked and the with 2x antiliason and 16x anthriscopic. This was actually like being in the real world like looking out a window. The flight model is far superior to IL2, you dont go into a flat spin at the drop of a hat when stalling at 150 MPH or higher. You can do loops at 90MPH, that real. Lets face it IL2 Sucks and this rocks. Dig deep boys, boys and toys LOL Sound not badGameplay excellentWould you like to Comment? Summary I can't beleive I bought this combat flight sim. Microsoft has failed big time in creating a satisfactory game. The box graphics and movie DO NOT accurately and honestly reflect the playability at all.Sound Sound gave way along with the video. It stuttered to the point of a very slow lag. When you fire the weapons, it takes a few seconds for the sound to catch up. I think there is way to much overhead in the programming of this game. Microsoft would do better trying to use a realistic game engine similar to Operation Flashpoint or other fast first person game.Gameplay I have a very powerful gaming machine that has no problems with the latest games. With nothing much running in my Windows XP Pro PC, with in a few minutes of the stuttering lagging game, I get a warning message that my machine has ran out of memory and Windows will have to increase virtual memory size. This game is totally unplayable.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member. Summary Disappointing. Very Disappointing. I was so excited when I saw CFS3 on the shelf, as I had forgotten about it's coming release and just happened to stumble upon it. After installing it and not being able to calibrate my Logitech Wingman Force feedback joystick, I was already pissed, off to a bad start. Then the stuttering frame rates and poor landscape textures. And, unfortunately the poor flight models resemble what it might be like to fly in a bathtub at 45 miles an hour. There is NO sense of speed or nimbleness in any of these aircraft models. Microsoft was on the right track, and made some improvements over CFS2, but not enough. It still falls subpar against IL-2. In fact, I have more fun still flying fighters in B-17 Flying Fortress II and Janes WWII fighters.Sound OK, nothing to write home aboutGameplay poor, hindered by stutteringWould you like to Comment? Summary I have to agree with everyone else. All the other reviewers have faster machines than I do so you can imagine what I experienced. Definitely disappointing considering I am a huge fan of the CFS series. This and Medal of Honor were both on sale at Best Buy for $29. I made the wrong choice. The sale is now over. Bummer.Sound One sound comes to mind; a Bronx Cheer.Gameplay Sucks. Why is the player forced to wait through such a long warp sequence? It ought to just skip to the next scenario. You spend way too much more time taking off and waiting than actually engaged in action.Would you like to Comment? Join VideoGameReview for a free account, or Login if you are already a member.
